Guest guest
Kitty, You can treat low PG with OTC PG cream. I found Emerita to work, but I had to use a lot, their equivalent to 40 mg /day according to the directions. I know use Xymogen topical and I find it much more potent. Only 2 pumps (10 mg of PG according to them) keeps my PG is the good range during the luteal phase. Unfortunately, for testosterone, I think the only way is to get a script. Luckily, I have a doc who gives it to me. It's a topical gel and I apply 1.5 to 2 mg a day. HC sent my testosterone into the DIRT and that is not good for muscles or BONES. Guest guest
How do you know how much of the prog cream to use? I haven't been to my doc since starting all of this so I have to figure out a way to do this on my own. Guest guest
Generally, women use 20 mg a day for days 14 until their period comes. Then, a blood test taken 7 days before your period comes will show if you are using enough or not. If your periods aren't regular, they will become so once you get on the cream. :-) If you are post-meno, then you just take the cream 21 days of the month. However, with Emerita brand, I had to use what the tube said equalled 40 mg. (They tell you that 1/4 tsp is equal to 20 mg PG.) With Xmogen, which you can buy online, I only need to use what they say is 10 mg. Xymogen has 2 kinds, one dispenses 20 in one pump. I suggest getting the other one, which is only 5 mg per pump so you can get a dose that works for you more accurately. I used Source Naturals before and it didn't raise my levels at all, so it does matter what cream you use. You should try to find a way to get testosterone as it is SUPER important to maintaining bone. I'm think there are some gels they sell to men as bodybuilders probably use them. But I stress to try to get bioidentical. I think you could try Anti Aging systems in the UK. Very repuatable for stuff like that. Google for exact link. Other than that, maybe just Google testosterone gel and see what you find. I know there is a natural gel out there, just don't remember the name. Guest guest
Robyn, The only way I can tell a difference is the " squish " test that Val told me about to regulate your hormones. If tender and sore, it means too much estrogen and if heavy, it means too much progesterone. Have you found a good doc? You can answer this off list if you like. Deb in MI > > Deb > > I'm in Michigan too. I just started the progesterone pills. I have severe headaches and am hoping the progesterone will help with those. I have high reverse T3s too. I'm on day 10 and so far feel no different. does it take a while once you start the progesterone to feel any results? > > Robyn in MI >

Guest guest
Yes, I take compounded sublingual troches to try and raise my testosterone. Val had good results with the cream, as do most people, but I had no results at all with that. I've just started the troches. Excuse me if I'm repeating myself, as this is related to another post I just wrote, but my progesterone was also very low, cream also failed to raise it, and I am also trying sublingual prog now. > > > > I'm getting some labs done next week and I wanted to know what other factors would cause insomnia in the event my RT3 is clear and thyroid levels are normal. Guest guest
It is actually a lot easier to find docs to prescribe sex hormones than t3 and HC! Usually if you can find an anti-aging doc, they are better and understand the topicals. I think compounding pharmacies may have lists of docs that use them or will give you the name of a doc that uses them. Maybe you could try looking into that for your area? > > > > This is what I have found so far, http://www.testosteronecream.biz/eCommerce/cart.php not trying to sell it! > > There are so many progesterone creams :X I have issues with eating soy, I would guess I should avoid creams that contain soy? > > > > Kitty > > >
Guest guest
To quote Val: Estrogen is fairly easy to adjust using your boobs! LOL If they are soft and saggy you need MORE if they are too firm and tender or painful you need less. but good estrogne levels not only protect your bones but also your muscles. My doc has me do the balancing act then with progesterone to offset the estrogen. So if they are tender and painful, you need more progesterone. The squish test is what I call it.
