HEY EVERYBODY,

JUST AN UPDATE FROM JOE AND JOANIE AND JOE'S EMORY APPT. THIS PAST FRIDAY. THE PFT'S, 6 MIN WALK, ETC. SHOWED THE JUST ABOUT THE SAME #'S AS 6 MONTHS AGO! WE ALSO AS A COUPLE JOIINED THE RESEARCH STUDY ABOUT THE HERPES VIRUS 8 AND EPSTEIN/BARR VIRUS BEING PRESENT IN THE LUNGS. WE BOTH GAVE BLOOD, SALIVA, AND SPUTUM AND WILL DO SO AGAIN EVERY 3 TO 6 MOINTHS. JANE(TOODLES) PIANO LADY AND HER HUSBAND ALSO ARE IN THIS STUDY. WE MET A COUPLE FROM OUR HOMETOWN OF GRIFFIN AT THE EMORY SUPPORT GROUP MEETINGS AND THE TOM WAS LISTED FOR A TRANSPLANT THE 1ST WEEK OF DEC. AND RECEIVED A SINGLE LUNG TRANSPLANT LAST TUESDAY. WE WANTED TO SEE HIM ON FRIDAY BUT HE WAS STILL IN ICU. WE ARE IN OHIO FOR CHRISTMAS AND IT IS 0 DEGREES WITHOUT THE WINDCHILL, AND WE LEFT THE UPPER 60'S IN ATLANTA AREA FOR THIS? LACK OF O2 TO THE BRAIN I GUESS, HA HA.

WELL MERRYT CHRISTMAS TO ALL AND WE WANTED TO SHARE OUR GOOD NEWS! WE WILL CONTINUE TO READ POSTS AND CONTRIBUTE WHEN WE CAN. I ALSO WANTED TO LET YOU KNOW THAT WE LEFT SOME POSTS WITH DR. PEREZ FOR HIS STAFF TO START READING OUR WEBSITE, AND THE COMMONALITY OF ACHES, PAINS, ITCHING POSTS FROM THE LAST TWO WEEKS RESULTED IN JOE HAVING MORE BLOOD DRAWN TO CHECK FOR CERTAIN LEVELS OF WHAT-I-DON'T-KNOW IN CASE HE NEEDS TO START SEEING A RHEUMATOLOGIST., WE ALSO DISCUSSED IN GREAT LENGTH THE CONNECTION BETWEEN RHEUMATOILOGIST, AUTO IMMUNE DISEASES AND IPF. THIS WAS ENLIGHTENING CONVERSATION.

Hi guys! You're in Ohio? And haven't called me yet? What's up with that? I loved our last meeting over the summer. It was great to meet you. I also loved the pictures. I am living with my mother again and hoping that after the new year I can start looking for my own place for me and Kaleb. He's with his dad until after the new year and I miss him terribly already, even though he's only been gone for 2 days! If you have time while you are in town, give me a ring (). I would love to get together for a few minutes if you have time. This cold, cold weather is playing havoc on me. It has been -30 with the wind chill and I can't handle going out very well.
