Guest guest
Oh I do think the CHARITY side of a doctors work says lots about their character. We are seeing docs here in OZ that will turn away a child with his head split open because the parents are $10 short of the total bill during whets obviously an emergency crisis situation. Pay in advance doctors ? Point of interest : I have done apartment renovations for doctors and they are like getting blood from a stone when it comes to pay for the work they requested and approved. m Re: Doctors well marcus i never said it was, it just reminded me he "had" gone to a poor country to do work, id completely forgotten. i do trust his skill 1000% in removing tumors. Guest guest
You Are so Right Marcus , This Dr was so darned arrogant it was not funny , He was A Neurosurgeon! Mike told him (After the Surgery) he did not think very much of him , He(The Dr Said ) well I can look at my self in the mirror because I help people like you ... But ya know he kept Mike on that table to get 90 % of that tumor when Mike would have been glad to have 40% gone & go back for the rest, later this guy knew the lungs were not going to stand 8 hours of surgery . I personally got A pulmonary function done for him ... and made sure he knew we would settle for less removed tumor if it meant saving Mikes life ... that just sucks as far as I'm concerned , He said he thought there was a malignancy but I do not think there was ever a real threat of that ... just because it was so big and they wanted that tumor... Sorry If I upset any one ( this was UPMC Presby In Pittsburgh PA. ) But these are facts I begged Mike not to go through with the surgery I had A bad feeling about this arrogant Dr. But Mike thought it was his last chance ... He couldn't even get his wheelchair through the doorways of our home any more & we had them widened to 36 inches ... oh well to late now ... But I still have a voice ... They messed up his throat and he aspirated into his lungs during in surgery, they could actually do a bronchoscope with out any type of anesthesiology. the hole was so big in his esophagus .Was there even A question why he had double phenomena and STAPH infection & Adult Respitorary Distress Syndrome Lois Doctors Dear Crew, I beg you to be very selective with your Dr's especially the Neurosurgeons... I know I said I Know That is where Mike and I made our mistake and lost his life was in not being careful getting A Dr. that REALLY cared and give a shit about the person not the NF & The tumor for science... I'm so sorry to say these things ... I know some of you have Drs out there that are good .. But if you are starting out Like Mike and I and find ONE just one with an attitude get rid of HIM IMMEDIATELY... I really believe if it were not for Dr. Moosey's neglect in pre- op Mike would be alive today ...Sorry to ruffle feathers but in Lou of things I'm hearing about how some doctors are acting ... It just takes me back to the poor and superior. The oh well attitude he had The Dr walked into Mikes ICU room looked at him with aspiration Phenomena and said I expected as much ... Mike could still get a breath then & said well why the hell did you not tell me you expected this ... he just smiled walked away 13 days later Mike was gone ... Guest guest
Subject: Re: Doctors I can only try to imagine the pain of losing someone so close for so little reason, and arrogance is the worst. I get very angry when an error is made for medical staff lack of care or arrogance and lack of knowledge of our disease and so many unwilling to learn about it. This is very much a factor in how we are so often medically handled or not. Its pretty scary being at the mercy of those that can't say they really don't know what is the best solution and really don't care much either. I started checking myself out or leaving....... At least I get satisfaction at seeing the look on their faces as they realize I really CAN and AM doing just that. I'm sure word gets around and I'm blackballed or whatever they say, but too often, their choice has been the wrong one here. Guest guest
Thank you Sheryn believe it or not it helps me to know people know how I feel I'm feeling pretty darned angry at the way NF is going unnoticed,Its a terrible disease ... And if we had awareness we could have Drs and research and feel confidant if we had to go have a tumor out that we are not trading out life for a tumor... Guest guest
Lois, I just read your post about this Dr. Moosey. After that, I'll bet there is a Crew that will never see him! This is terrible to hear. Poor Mike and you, too. Damn, him. You are right. One day, he will get his. I hear lots of anger and I don't blame you at all. What a jerk was this doctor! You know, our internist, is recuperating from surgery and I saw her at a function last weekend. She said this recent surgery and the degree of sickness has made her a better doctor for sure. Maybe this doc needs a really good surgery experience for himself.????? Warm fuzzies for you. Vicki
