Guest guest
, That change was made about 4 years ago. It's mentioned in Dr. 's book as well by that name: vestibulodynia. I don't have access to another site that showed information about the change in guidelines for vulvar issues that changed the name to vestibulodynia but it was changed about 4 years ago. Guest guest
Becky, Yes, we are talking about the same pamphlet, I just don't know if it's been updated in the last several years since it first came out. While it would be a good idea to give updated information I wouldn't recommend putting in studies info because not every case of vulvodynia is going to fit with the study cases which is why Sandi and another girl tried to put out that survey that got analyzed by Dr. Allan Gordon. I was one of the participants in that survey that later got put in to a journal called Marriage and Sex or something like that. But even with that not everyone with vulvodynia is going to fit what was shown in the studies because every case is so different. That's why in Dr. 's book she covers a little bit about all possible aspects of vulvodynia including about the issue of cancer. Guest guest
The reason you don't see vestibulodynia mentioned as it should be is because most of the doctors who have been in practice for a good number of years don't want to educate themselves to the latest changes going on. And this is the one point I agree with Arline on (and a friend of mine confirmed this as well years ago when we had a discussion about this). Because of those doctors that don't want to get educated about the latest changes is also why Dr. Groopman wrote his book about How Doctors Think because of how many of them hold on to ideas don't work anymore which makes it harder to get the care we need in so many cases.
