I am going to see my Dr tomorrow and will ask for another saliva cortisol test so that i can see where I am at. Just wondering if high cortisol could be a cause or if possibly my cortisol is dropping after my T3 dose? What do you think? Kat

Guest guest
Oh, believe me, I would probably be in an institution if I hadn't had benzos over the years. I think people should take them if they need them until they get their adrenals fixed. There is NO POINT in suffering needlessly AND the added stress of DP/anxiety only makes it worse on the adrenals. Kathleen > > > > Thanks so Margery for posting the links to my DP experiences. I hope it helps others. > > > > I've had it on and off since I was 14 and EVERY time came on after a stressful event or stressful time. > > > > Of course, they put me on SSRIs and benzos (which actually helped) and it always passed, but the WORST ever was this year when I got way too low on cortisol. For me, it was definitely low cortisol and probably low serotonin as well from not having enough cortisol for t3 to make serotonin (which t3 is needed for in the brain among other things.) > > > > I wonder now if all my past episodes were due to my adrenals? Probably. How sad, but I can tell you that after being afraid to even leave the house alone, I am going on a trip by MYSELF tomorrow and I am FLYING! :-)) > > > > Have faith and the DP Manual is EXCELLENT. Just listening to the guy's Irish accent distracts one from the DP. ;-) > > > > Kathleen >
Guest guest
Val, You are right. Sorry, I do not mean to push benzos. I just meant that while in the process of getting adrenals fixed, sometimes you need some help. I would probably be hospitalized otherwise, it was THAT bad. Sorry for posting OT. Guest guest
Val, I second this emotion...don't know where I'd be without your willingness to learn and to teach. You've been at this for years so it must be a labor of love. Honestly, I don't know how you do it but I appreciate it more than you know. > > Val, > > I'm sorry to hear about the addictions.
