Guest guest
I remember one time, when we were living in WV, we saw a bunch of black snakes, well, not being sure what they WERE, I shot one (rob said I knew you could shoot but I didn't know I married Annie Oakly!" because I took one shot and with a shotgun neatly took the back of it's head off, so we could still see it's eyes) and after we ascertained they were just black snakes, he decided to skin it. Well that was the single foulest smelling thing I have even been near! GadZOOKS did that thing stink! ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- update on the snake (it killed a chicken) That snake killed one of our older hens. Guest guest
Resourceful.. and protective of the chickens.. glad to hear that they were able to do the deed without any qualms.. Country girls for sure!!!.. but thems the best kind! -- suspect they wouldn't have a problem eating rattlesnake either... I think I did once.. at a "Game Dinner" type thing in CT... The chili made from Bison was great.. Snake wasn't too awful.. but Alligator.. well that just tasted like an old wet tennis shoe smells.. HUGS |)onna That snake killed one of our older hens. Guest guest
Not sure if this could be the reason.. BUT.. in reading Jean M. Auel's Earth Children series.. It's pointed out way more than a few times... that carnivores are NOT good eating.. must be an herbivore to taste good... and I think that when they took the hides and claws and things from the carnivores, those same critters smelled pretty bad when being cut up... wonder if it wouldn't be the same for snakes??.. Black snake isn't eating the tomatoes or cucumbers from the garden.. it's eating the rats and bats and what else is mentioned in that song?? HUGS |)onna I wonder why it smelled so bad? Do you think it was just that particular snake? You ARE Annie Oakley! laughing....  Sharon This email is a natural hand made product.
