Guest guest
Easter weekend was fairly busy. Attended Maundy Thursday, Good Friday & Easter Sunday services. There was a pancake breakfast at church between the two Easter services. And, in the evening I went out to dinner with some friends at a Chinese restaurant. Seemed no one in our group had made Easter plans so we just went out for Chinese. Saturday evening I went with a friend to a performance called GENDER MYSTIC. It was a performance of Indonesian traditional dance. I didn't have the budget for a ticket. But, my friend was kind enough to "comp" me. Very generous of him. Like Akiba, my right side is in awful pain. The muscles from shoulder to scalp are so tight & spasming. I'm sure it's from using my cane too much. It's putting too much stress on one side. I'm taking ibuprofen, which helps some. I try walking with the cane in the left hand but it's very difficult to get used to.Dan U dao_nguu@... Guest guest
DanI'm so sorry to hear you are in such pain. I hope you are getting better. Do you think you should call your doc?Your Easter services sound wonderful. I didn't get to go to church for Easter this year. We call it Holy Thursday instead of Maundy Thursday. Your Chinese dinner sounds wonderful!hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
I'm sorry to hear that you're having pain Dan. The best part of using my cane was when I could fold it up and put it away! (in the house or at the office). Though I don't remember having any pain on my sides, just the heel of my hand & my shoulder. They got plenty sore for everything else though! Once inside the house or office, the cane found a nice corner to stand in (facing the corner, just like an errant schoolkid! LOL) and I did the "wall-walk" thing.. Hope you start feeling better soon.. and I must add that I highly doubt that you will ever get completely accustomed to using the left hand, it just seems too unnatural when one is right-dominant. I'm pretty sure that 's niece, who is an R.N. also pointed out that I wasn't using the cane properly either. I'm pretty sure that (if memory serves) I moved the cane & left foot forward at the same time, then brought up the rear with my right leg... and I think it's supposed to be leg & cane in tandem.. Could be the opposite, of what I just described. It's been a very long time since I last used a cane, and I do have these nasty brain-warts that cause memory to just ooze on out my ears! <grin> HUGS |)onna Easter weekend was fairly busy. Guest guest
I called the doctor and the office suggested trying ibuprofen first. It helps some. At home I try not using the cane, relying on the wall walk instead. But, if I go out then I have to use the cane (or use the elec. scooter).Dan U dao_nguu@...
