Show Bitterness & Disappointment the Doorby Jane on March 3, 2011

“Has your ship arrived?â€

Are you waiting for your “ship to come in It could be a long wait. Why not put your swimsuit on and go out and meet it?

Nothing leads to more disappointment and bitterness than the belief that you’re owed something in life. Why wait for fate to somehow deliver unknown future bounties and success? Start focusing on what you can do to make things happen, right now.

Be grateful for the fact that you’re in charge of your own destiny – and no one else has this power. Celebrate each success you achieve and pause to enjoy each moment of good fortune.

When setbacks occur, shake them off and move on. Fill your life with positive energy, not by making plans for the future, but by living for today.

ACTION

"People are always blaming their circumstances for what they are.

I don't believe in circumstances.

The people who get on in this worldare the people who get up and look for

the circumstances they want,And, if they can't find them, make them."

Bernard Shaw is giving us some superb motivation today to go out and grab the brass ring, to take action to make things happen. You can wait for your ship to come in, but if you don't bring it to shore, just who do you think will?

Got dreams? Got plans? Got goals? Go for them now.

You attempted something and it did not work. But that doesn't mean it will always fail to work. When you truly desire to find a way, there is a way. Go back and remind yourself why you wanted to do it in the first place.

The obstacles you encounter do not prevent you from getting it done. Those obstacles enable you to get it done in a more creative, effective, realistic and sustainable way.

Right now you are more knowledgeable and experienced than you've ever been. Give it another go, and discover how much more effective you've become.

Don't fret about the opportunities you've missed. Instead, discover how those opportunities have now evolved.

The pathway may look different now, yet it is indeed still there. Confidently take that first step, and begin to do what you've always wanted to do.

Ralph Marston

For the FUN of it!by Jane

“Take time out for fun!â€

When you were a child, you didn’t look for a purpose in everything you did. You didn’t run across a field, sink your teeth into a juicy orange or jump high with a ball because it was good for you. You did it for the sheer, glorious fun of it!

Release your inner child. Take time to play in the park, laugh with friends, visit a fair, walk barefoot on a beach…just for fun. If it makes you feel happy, that’s all the reason you need. And, have fun!

JUST ASK FOR IT

A snooty millionaire took some of his upper class friends yachting. They passed a deserted island where a man with a long beard and tattered clothes stood, waving his arms and screaming in their direction.

"Who is that?" asked the friend.

"I don't know," said the host, "but every time we sail by he goes crazy."

That may be an exception to a universal rule, which is that most people are happy to help if they can. But there is another universal principle in play, which is, unless you are stranded on a deserted island, you are probably reluctant to ask for help - especially from a stranger. Thankfully, most of the time we are not coping with a mayday emergency.

I recently learned that the word "mayday" has nothing to do with the month of May. Instead, it comes from the French word "m'aidez," which means "help me." But it is used only as a last resort. The plane is nose-diving. The ship is fatally wounded. "Mayday! Mayday! Mayday!" a voice screams over the radio. If help doesn't arrive quickly, all will be lost.

We laugh at the notion that men are famously bad about asking for directions. But, in truth, most people do not easily ask for the help they need. They wait until they are hopelessly lost, or the marriage is on the brink of collapse or a simple job has become a nightmare before they seek help.

And it is also true that help is not usually too hard to get. But we have to ASK for it.

Entrepreneur puts it well: "Ask for what you want. Ask for help, ask for input, ask for advice and ideas -- but never be afraid to ask." Or like one man is fond of saying, "You don't always get what you ask for, but you never get what you don't ask for (unless it's contagious)."

I once heard of a little girl who confidently approached a police officer. "Are you a cop?" she asked.

"Yes."

"My mommy said that if I ever needed help I could ask you."

"Of course you can," the officer replied. "What do you need?"

She stuck out her foot. "Can you please tie my shoe?"

Do you need help? It may be easier to get than you think. Just ask for it.

Steve Goodier

Dare to say what you truly think. Dare to express what you really feel. Preventing yourself from being yourself causes stress, anxiety, frustration and resentment. Give yourself permission to be uniquely beautiful and uninhibited in your living of life.

Dare to attempt things you've never done before. Every well-honed skill you have, was once a new experience.

Dare to question your beliefs. For that is how you make them strong.

Open yourself to the possibility of failure. The fact that success is never a sure thing is what makes it so worth having.

Dare to imagine, and then to intently build that which you've imagined. Dare to dream, and to live that dream with passion and purpose in every moment. Ralph Marston

Stop Annoying Thoughtsby Jane

“Free yourself from anxiety by chasing away the ‘What-if’s?’â€

“What-if?†So many negative thoughts start with these two words. “What if I’m late for work?†“What if I don’t lose weight?†“What if I don’t go to my friends for dinner because I’m too tired?†What if…what if…what…if!

Each anxious thought leads to another anxious thought, and another – only to feed a negative spiral of worry. Before you know it, your heart races, it’s hard to breathe and there’s a knot in your stomach the size of a pot roast.

Catch yourself! Next time you fall in to the “what-if†trap, stop it in its tracks. Turn your thinking in a positive direction. It takes time and consistent practice, but the freedom from anxiety is well worth the effort.

HOLD MY HAND Little girl and her father were crossing a bridge. The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter,"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river."The little girl said, "No, Dad. You hold my hand.""What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father."There's a big difference," replied the little girl. "If I hold your hand and something happens to me,Chances are that I may let your hand go.But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens,You will never let my hand go." In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in itsBond. So hold the hand of the person who loves you rather than expecting them toHold yours... ~~Unknown

Life comes to you in great abundance. There's no need to gulp it. Lovingly taste each moment as it comes. Take care not to hurry past the richness that is already here.

Tomorrow's treasures can wait until tomorrow. Live today's treasures while they are here.

Give yourself time to absorb the goodness of now in all its bounty. Give yourself time to live with meaning, instead of just rushing through.

There is more than enough available to you already. Instead of striving toward what's next, make the most of what's now.

It is all here, now. Live the abundance in your own special way.

Increase Your Self-Respectby Jane on March 9, 2011

“Assertiveness is a matter of self-respect.â€

When you trust your assertiveness, you have the ability to express yourself and the ability to communicate your feelings, wants and needs. You are less dependent on others and more in control of your own life.

When you assert yourself, you make your own choices. You make room for your confidence to explode. Practice confident assertion by saying, “Yes†to the things you want to do and, “No†to the things you don’t.

Don’t be afraid or feel guilty for asserting yourself. You have nothing to lose. You will only become stronger and more self-sufficient and in turn your self-respect and self-worth will shine!

Some people see those who have achieved great success, and they respond by becoming envious. Others respond by becoming inspired and committed to reaching even greater goals of their own. Some people respond to the success of others by trying to take it away or minimize it in some way. Others realize that their efforts are far better spent in creating their own success. Another person's success does not in any way diminish your prospects. In fact, the more people there are who are truly successful, the more opportunities you have to succeed. No one who thrives at the expense of others will continue to thrive for long. For true and lasting success comes only to those who provide positive and useful value to others. The success of your neighbor is your success too. For it makes even more possibilities available to you. Let the success of others positively inspire you. Then go ahead and become an inspiration yourself.

Living with purpose and clear focus helps you to understand the value of being meaningfully focused. And aimlessly wandering with no clear focus can also help you to appreciate the power of a positive purpose. Either way, life leads you surely, steadily toward your purpose. Whether you experience the pain of losing touch with that purpose, or the joy of living in harmony with it, you grow in understanding and appreciation.

No day, no experience, no encounter is really wasted. Through the ups and downs, in the good times and in times of despair, you feel more intensely the longing to express who you truly are.

The beauty of this day is not in its particulars. The beauty is that you can take it all in, whatever and however it may be, and add it to the substance of your being.

Whatever comes along, be thankful for the opportunity to pass through it. Whatever is, go with it and grow with it.

Your purpose cannot help but become stronger, as each moment passes. Feel that strength, and live it more fully, more authentically, day after day.

Face Change With Courage and Strengthby Jane

“Adventures, especially into new territory, are scary.â€

Are you anxious about a new job, a new responsibility, a house move or some other life-changing event? Relax! New adventures make everyone nervous. When you reach beyond your comfort zone, away from what’s familiar and comfortable, anxious feelings are inevitable.

At such times, remember, fear is connected with joy.

We need new experiences to keep our minds fresh. We need new opportunities to feed the creativity of our souls. We need new adventures for personal growth.

Recognize that, through these experiences, you discover new parts of yourself. You might just reveal strength, courage and resilience you didn’t know you had, and how great is that?

So, reach past your fear and celebrate what your new adventures may bring!

Stop worrying about what you don't have and start finding real joy in what you do have. Stop agonizing over what might happen and start moving toward the best of what can happen. All the richness of life is here today for you to touch. The limitless abundance of the universe is yours right now to experience. Any shortcomings you come across are mostly a product of the perspective you choose. Expand your perspective and the shortcomings disappear. Stop being afraid to fail and you'll start to consistently and spectacularly succeed. To climb the highest peak you must be willing to occasionally slide backwards. Stop being your own worst enemy and start acting true to the deepest purpose within you. There is so much wisdom you already possess that you can use when you choose to listen to your own best advice. Stop merely going through the motions and start living each moment with joy and meaning. Discover and fulfill the

golden treasure that is your life.

How do you want to feel today? You can create whatever feeling you choose, with your actions. Your feelings are not imposed on you from the outside. They occur because you exercise strategies to make them occur.

Yes, some of those strategies may include the way you choose to respond to events beyond your control. Yet it is the response, the chosen response within you, that creates the feeling, not the outside situation.

So how exactly do you wish to feel today? Then act like it.

The actions you take will create the feelings you seek. If you want to feel happy, and empowered, and fulfilled, then go through the physical motions of being happy, empowered and fulfilled.

It really is as simple as that. When you act like it, you are.

Tried & True Formula for Achieving Goals

by Jane “Do you set goals then fail to achieve them?â€

Too many failed attempts may lead to frustration. Eventually, you either stop setting goals or surrender to the failures that overcome you. Overtime, avoiding disappointment becomes easier than setting new goals, altogether. Your heart wonders, what’s the use in trying?

Let your next goal be different. Before you start, break your ultimate goal into smaller goals. This way you’re placing your expectations of success on your immediate goal, rather than the whole project.

By breaking down your goal in to bite size pieces, the whole can be achieved much more easily. With each milestone, you feel energized and motivated to keep on going.

Instead of being stressed, frustrated, and disappointed, you can now feel good, because you have a doable method to achieve your goals that works like magic!

As we grow up, we start to obsess that our families,Homes, cars and jobs need fixing, It's true that someTweaking here and there may be in order; but this Kind of focus may make you dwell on what is missing in Your life. "If only I had....." It's the internal dialogueThat makes that peace of mind so elusive. Only when you feel thankful for something, can you Become more fulfilled and peaceful.Accept what you have and where you are with gratitude. Feel thankful and you will start to feel more peaceful.

It doesn't do much good when you appreciate the value of a moment only after that moment has passed. By that time, it's really too late. Instead, see the value of each moment while it is here. Live and experience that value while you still can.

The biggest regrets are for opportunities missed, for the things you could have done but didn't. Choose to deal in action rather than in regret.

Make the Ultimate Commitmentby Jane

“Commitment is a way of life.â€

The ultimate commitment is the one you make to yourself.

Today, make the commitment to yourself to take full responsibility for your life and to make the most of it.

Remember time waits for no one. The choices you make and the actions you take, today, determine your tomorrows.

Say farewell forever to excuses, indifference and regrets. Stand up, claim what you want and get ready to do what it takes to get it.

In other words, commit yourself and never settle for less than your ideal.

If I had but a single day,Where would I go ? What would I say?How would I choose my time to spend? What would I do before day's end.If I only had one day? If I had but a single day,Would I relive some yesterday?Would I recall all my regrets,The jobs undone, the useless frets,If I only had one day? If I had but a single day,Would fear of some tomorrow playUpon my mind and steal from meThe present opportunity,If I only had one day? If I had but a single day,Would labor claim my night and day?Would every waking moment beConsumed to grasp prosperity,If I only had one day? If I had but a single day,Would I sit back from all the frayAnd wait for someone else to takeInitiative to make it great,If I only had one day. If I had but a single day,Would I find time to kneel and pray?Would kindness, love, and charityToward others take

priorityIf I only had one day. Indeed, I have a single day.I can't recover yesterday.Tomorrow is beyond my grasp.I can't control future or past. For I only have this day.

You can think and you can feel. You can reason and you can abandon all reason. You can understand logic and you can appreciate beauty. You can find great value in a mathematical formula and also in the chorus of crickets on a summer night.

Do you understand the limitless possibilities that arise from such a potent combination? Can you feel the power that lives within your spirit?

When your thoughts and your feelings support and encourage and amplify each other, truly great things happen. When your creativity is enabled by discipline, and when your thoughts are energized by passion, nothing is out of reach.

If your thoughts stray too far from your purpose, you can feel your way back. If your feelings keep you stuck in one place, you can think your way out.

You are one, and yet you can think as well as feel. Continue to more fully experience the wholeness of that miraculous contradiction, and you'll know that it is no contradiction at all.

Benefit From the Mistakes of Othersby Jane

“You cannot live long enough to make all the mistakes. Learn from the mistakes of others.â€

In every mistake, there is learning, but not every mistake has to be your own. Just as society uses history to learn from the mistakes of earlier generations, so can you. Save yourself some time and frustration and look to those around you and learn from their experiences.

For instance, instead of being defensive when an older person passes on advice listen and appreciate the learning they’ve gained over time. Tune into their mistakes more closely than their successes. Reflect on why things went wrong and tuck the learning away in your mind for your own future challenges.

By avoiding the mistakes made by others, you can create true success for yourself in a lot less time.

Every dream is as real as you choose to make it. You're as young or as old as you think yourself to be.Those things you sincerely expect will find their way to you. Those things you most fondly imagine will relentlessly pull you forward. The love you give away will always be with you. Everything for which you are sincerely grateful will grow stronger and more abundant.Your intentions will be fulfilled when you give them true purpose. Your goals will be reached when they come from your heart. This day will bring fulfillment when you choose to allow it. This life will be rich when you give your best to it.What do you choose in the innermost depth of your being? That is what life will surely become.

There is no reason to avoid the effort. Because once you get started, the effort will feel great. There is no need to fear what might happen. Because whatever happens, you'll be able to successfully deal with it.

You may be nice and comfortable where you are. By all means enjoy the moment you're in, but don't become so comfortable that you keep yourself stuck there.

Spreading out in all directions is a world full of possibilities. Get up, get out there, explore, achieve, fulfill, and experience.

Put your awareness, care and attention into this now moment. Then step forward to experience the adventure of the next moment.

Feel again, right now, all the joy you've ever known. With profound gratitude and the highest of expectations, get yourself making even more joyful experiences.

Survive Challenges and Adversityby Jane

“You’re not alone in the journey of life.â€

There’s not a woman in the world that hasn’t had to struggle or overcome difficulties. We all face challenges and adversity. When the struggle seems too long or too hard, remember, you’re not alone.

At this very moment, you may face money difficulties, health problems, career challenges, or conflicts with children, partners or family. It’s all part of life! And, many other women face the same issues every day. When we recognize that obstacles are part of our journey, when we recall that women we admire also carry similar burdens, it is easier to keep on going.

Tap into the strength that comes from knowing others experience what you experience. Stay strong by recognizing that you are one of millions of women who do their best to handle challenges, every day.

Don’t let difficulties stop you and never give up. Instead, think of them as milestones that, once passed, will bring you closer to your goals.

Remember, every woman struggles as she walks along the road of life. But, so many heroic women are on this same journey that no woman walks alone.

WARM WORMS

You may have heard the old story about the world's most dedicated fisherman. He had out-fished his companion all morning long. They used the same live bait, the same equipment and fished together in the same mountain stream. But he had almost caught his limit of fish while his friend had yet to catch even one.

"What's your secret?" asked the friend. "I haven't even gotten a bite!"

The angler mumbled an unintelligible answer, causing his companion to ask again.

The successful fisherman emptied the contents of his mouth into a cupped hand and replied: "I said, 'You have to keep your worms warm.'"

Talk about dedication. But did you know there are at least three types of fresh water fishermen (or fisherwomen, if that fits better)?

First, there are those who fish for sport. They like to "catch and release," quickly throwing their catch back into the water. For these anglers, it's all about recreation.

Then there are those who fish because they like the taste of fish. They are selective. They only keep the fish they will someday eat.

Finally, there are those who fish because they are hungry. If they don't catch, they don't eat. It is important for this group to succeed, and they are fully dedicated to what they do.

Whether or not we fish or even eat fish, there is a lesson to be learned here. We are most likely to succeed when we approach a task fully dedicated. Especially if the task before us is difficult or there seems little likelihood of success. Whether we want to patch a relationship, build a new business, write that first novel, kick a drug habit, or go back to school, we should see how willing we are to do what it takes - even if it means keeping the worms warm.

There are two important questions I ask myself to see just how dedicated I am. Question number one: "How much do I want this?" When some people fish, if they don't catch, they don't eat. Some things are too important for me to risk failure. So how much do I want to succeed at this relationship, this career or this dream?

The other question I ask is similar: "How hard am I willing to work?" If 'success' only comes before 'work' in the dictionary, I may have to work harder than I've ever worked before. But if I want it enough, the hard work will be worth it.

"Always bear in mind," said Abraham Lincoln, "that your own resolution to succeed is more important than any other one thing." And that is where it always begins: with a whole-hearted resolution to succeed - in a task, in a calling, in a life.

How much do I want this? And, how hard am I willing to work? Start there, and great things can happen.

Steve Goodier

Do all you can, when you can, with what you have. Though it may sometimes seem that you're not getting much accomplished, the only alternative is to get nothing accomplished. To make progress you must be actively making an effort. With each effort, at the very least you gain experience, exposure, knowledge and competence.

To find what you're looking for, you must be looking. To come across a great opportunity, you must be in motion.

By all means, go ahead and dream big, wonderful and meaningful dreams. Then let those dreams motivate you to get up and get busy making them real.

Circumstances may indeed push against you, but they cannot hold you back. Always, there is something you can do, some move you can make, some new approach you can follow.

Jump into life, get yourself in motion, and make a positive difference every chance you get. Persist, keep yourself moving, and you'll absolutely get where you wish to go.

Prevail in Spite of Fearby Jane

“Accept fear and forge ahead in spite of it.â€

When we deny the fear inside, we keep it lurking there. It remains in our minds, quietly holding us back from reaching new goals or fully experiencing new opportunities.

Accept your fear – there’s nothing shameful in it. Next time you shy away from a situation, stop and say to yourself, “I’m scared, but I’m still going to do it!â€

As you acknowledge your feelings and keep going forward in spite of them, your self-worth and self-confidence will rise. The adrenaline from fear will change to the excitement of anticipation. Suddenly, you’ll realize the emotion you’re feeling has turned into sheer enthusiasm!

Don’t spend time just

working and being busy. You will always complain

about lack of time.

Instead put little bit of effort;

Plan & organize your life. You will realize that you

have time for everything.

Tap into the abundanceAre you so concerned about what might go wrong that you don’t even see your greatest opportunities? Are you so focused on what you lack that you fail to see the rich abundance of what you have?

You are here, in this moment, filled with unique purpose and the powerful ability to make a difference. Instead of worrying about what might or might not happen, get busy exerting your own powerful influence.

Put your life and your time, your intelligence and your resources to use. Feel the strength of your effectiveness by pointing it in a useful and meaningful direction.

Certainly there are things that are out of your control. And yet, there is always much you can do.

Now is the moment to take matters into your own hands. You’re fully and elegantly equipped to do it.

Tap into the abundance that is yours for the doing. You are able, and now is when.

How to Make the Best Decisionsby Jane

“The best decisions are made with your head and your heart.â€

We all agree that we should carefully and rationally think through life changing decisions. It’s just as important when making these decisions not to neglect your emotional feelings.

When you carefully consider your feelings before making a final commitment you can save yourself a lot of heartache and frustration. There is peace in knowing that the decisions you make are the right ones for you when they reflect a balanced mix of rational thought and emotion.

Next time you’re faced with an important choice, combine the power of your head with your heart. You’ll know you made the right decision.

Hope

If you can look at the sunset and smile,

Then you still have hope.

If you can find beauty in the colors of a small flower,

Then you still have hope.

If you can find pleasure in the movement of a butterfly,

Then you still have hope.

If the smile of a child can still warm your heart,

Then you still have hope.

If you can see the good in other people,

Then you still have hope.

If the rain breaking on a roof top can still lull you to

Sleep, then you still have hope.

If the sight of a rainbow still makes you stop and stare in wonder, then you still have hope.

If the soft fur of a favored pet still feels pleasant under your fingertips, then you still have hope.

If you meet new people with a trace of excitement and

Optimism, then you still have hope.

If you give people the benefit of a doubt,

Then you still have hope.

If you still offer your hand in friendship to others that

Have touched your life, then you still have hope.

If receiving an unexpected card or letter still brings a

Pleasant surprise, then you still have hope.

If the suffering of others still fills you with pain and

Frustration, then you still have hope.

If you refuse to let a friendship die, or accept that it

Must end, then you still have hope.

If you look forward to a time or place of quiet and

Reflection, then you still have hope.

If you still buy the ornaments, put up the Christmas tree or cook the turkey, then you still have hope.

If you still watch love stories or want the endings to be

Happy, then you still have hope.

If you can look to the past and smile, then you still have hope.

If, when faced with the bad, when told everything is futile, you can still look up and end the conversation with the phrase... "yeah... BUT..." then you still have hope.

Hope is such a marvelous thing. It bends, it twists, it

Sometimes hides, but rarely does it break.

It sustains us when nothing else can.

It gives us reason to continue and courage to move ahead,

When we tell ourselves we'd rather give in.

Hope puts a smile on our face when the heart cannot manage.

Hope puts our feet on the path when our eyes cannot see it.

Hope moves us to act when our souls are confused of the

Direction.

Hope is a wonderful thing, something to be cherished and nurtured, and something that will refresh us in return. And it can be found in each of us, and it can bring light into the darkest of places.

Never lose hope.

Motivated and enthusiasticNotice what’s wrong just long enough to make yourself aware of it. Then let go, and move on to doing something positive about it.

Instead of dwelling on what is wrong, focus on what you can do to make it right. Challenge yourself to find and to follow the positive perspective that will transform the problem into an opportunity.

Don’t get yourself stressed out by obsessing about how bad things are. Get yourself motivated and enthusiastic about what you can do to make a difference.

Step back and observe what you are thinking. Choose to fill your mind with useful, creative, empowering thoughts that will point you in a positive direction.

Let go of the thoughts that just intensify your doubts, fears and worries. Give preference to the thoughts that you can act upon to create new value in your life.

What you see most vividly is where you will go. Focus on the best possibilities and you’ll create them in your life.

“Optimism.â€

Optimistic people have it good; they’re less susceptible to ill health and better able to fight off ailments if they strike.

Given that stress and unhappiness can have a negative impact on your health, it stands to reason that happiness resulting from an optimistic attitude stands you in good stead.

Instead of looking at the black clouds above, think about the blue sky beyond them. Instead of seeing a mountain with an impossible climb, imagine yourself already standing on the summit. In the same way you exercise to build physical strength, keep exercising optimism to strengthen it.

Today is your day to start the world over. So, make it a healthy one!

You are the critical link between What is possible and what is real. With your actions, you can bring To life the best of what can be. Life is awash with great and Wonderful possibilities. Yet Possibilities alone are not enough. Someone has to follow those great Possibilities, and work at them, And breathe meaningful life into them. In your world, that someone is you. Celebrate your good fortune of Being connected to life’s best Possibilities. And even as you Celebrate, get to work doing What must be done to make Those possibilities happen. The possibilities are so valuable Precisely because of what you Can do with them. So by all means, Do with them what you know you can do. For it is in choosing your own unique Possibilities and making them real, That you experience true fulfillment. Get up, get going, and enjoy

that Fulfillment in great abundance.

Thursday, June 3, 2010Choose to be happyIf you chase happiness, it will run away faster than you can catch up with it. Why is that?

Because when you strive to create happiness, that very act of striving pushes the happiness away. The more you want it, the less you have of it.

Happiness is not something you can go out and get. Real happiness does not have to depend on creating a certain set of circumstances.

Happiness is a way you can choose to be. And you can simply choose it at any time, in any circumstance.

When you do, you instantly become more creative and effective, more authentic and fully alive. Living from a perspective of happiness, you’re able to live at your best because you see positive value everywhere you look.

Stop striving to get happiness and just choose to be happy, right where you are. Give your happiness to life, and watch as its positive power fills your world.

Get the Relief You Need

by Jane

“With balance comes contentment.â€

Are you pressured by juggling all the different roles in life? Are you feeling overwhelmed by the competing demands on you? If so, it’s time to reassess your priorities and bring things back into perspective.

When your well-being is forced to take a back seat, burn out becomes a driving force. Not only are you doing a disservice to yourself but those around you suffer too.

The key to overcoming burn out is to carve out some “you†time in your day. Start by delegating household tasks to other family members. Yes, you may have to settle for less than a perfect home, but so what. The goal is to lessen your burden so that you can rediscover the balance your body needs.

Aim to create a more balanced and happier lifestyle and serenity will follow.

Happiness Comes From Giving This story is about a beautiful, expensively dressed lady who complained to her psychiatrist that she felt that her whole life was empty; it had no meaning. So the counselor called over the old lady who cleaned the office floors, and then said to the rich lady, "I'm going to ask here to tell you how she found happiness. All I want you to do is listen."So the old lady put down her broom and sat on a chair and told her story: "Well, my husband died of malaria and three months later my only son was killed by a car. I had nobody... I had nothing left. I couldn't sleep; I couldn't eat; I never smiled at anyone, I even thought of taking my own life. Then one evening a little kitten followed me home from work. Somehow I felt sorry for that kitten. It was cold outside, so I decided to let the kitten in. I got it some milk, and it

licked the plate clean. Then it purred and rubbed against my leg, and for the first time in months, I smiled. Then I stopped to think; if helping a little kitten could make me smile, maybe doing something for people could make me happy. So the next day I baked some biscuits and took them to a neighbor who was sick in bed. Every day I tried to do something nice for someone. It made me so happy to see them happy. Today, I don't know of anybody who sleeps and eats better than I do. I've found happiness, by giving it to others."When she heard that, the rich lady cried. She had everything that money could buy, but she had lost the things which money cannot buy. Happiness is when you want everything you have, not when you have everything you want.

ReachThe path between wanting and having is doing. To stop just wanting, and begin having, then start doing.

The greatest, most well-conceived plans are worthless if they’re not acted upon. If it’s going to happen, someone must make it happen.

All sorts of outstanding opportunities are open to the person who is willing to take action. Be that person, take that action, with commitment and persistence, and reap the valuable rewards of fulfilling those opportunities.

You don’t have to be a world-renowned genius to be smart enough to take action. You don’t need anyone’s permission to act on your dream.

You must simply do it. Figure out what has to happen and take complete responsibility for making it happen.

Anything you truly desire is within your reach. Simply stand up, lift up your commitment, lift up your spirit, lift up your arms and do precisely that -- reach.
