Guest guest
You should be able to use any gravy recipe from web sources and substitute your favorite GF flour... Rice flour (white or brown) or a generic GF mix should work nicely. Most recipes that don't require actual baking or yeast rising are very easy to simply substitute in GF flours with excellent results. After all, the gluten doesn't really DO anything special for a gravy. Here's a recipe from Food Network- I believe by Bobby Flay. But, you can use any recipe search engine, if this recipe doesn't appeal to you. Country Gravy: 1 medium garlic clove, minced 2 ounces bacon grease 4 ounces all-purpose flour (Use GF blend or rice flour etc) 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup water Black pepper, to taste Kosher salt, to taste Brown garlic in the bacon grease. Stir in flour until smooth. Let roux (grease and flour) cook lightly for a couple of minutes stirring frequently. Add cream and water stirring constantly. Simmer until gravy thickens and is hot. Season with salt and pepper, to taste. > > Does anyone have a recipe for GF country style gravy? I pretty much > have the GF bisquits down, now I just need the gravy. > Sue in Calif.
