Here's a link to Val's answer to a very similar question:http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/41461Also, here's some info from Nick's website on this subject, and also when clearing happens (which can be sudden). This is from http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/dosing.htm"If you go above 75mcg a day in this interim period be very careful to check pulse every morning, especially after 10 weeks, as you may suddenly find resistance clearing and end up hyper with a high temperature and fast pulse. If this happens then drop your dose to nothing or maybe a quarter of what you were on and take your pulse each time you would have taken a tablet, if it's high skip it, if it's near normal then take half what you would have done normally. You will be going through the dose finding process again but this time without T4 in the way so you should be able to find a stable place within a week or so at somewhere between half and 2/3 of what you were on before to feel "non-hypo". This should be a long term stable dose needing a little adjustment between summer and winter but no other changes due to your body.">> My friend who is currently trying to clear a BAD case of rT3 is up to 150 mcgs of Cytomel and his body temperature is not increasing, nor is he feeling any better.....He's only in week 7. > The question I am posting for him is this:> Should he continue to RAISE T3 and if so, to how high?, OR> will his rT3 clear regardless, even if he stays on 150 mcgs for the next 5 or 6 weeks until his body has enough time to dump the rT3? > > > He was on 0.125 Synthroid before finally deciding to take charge himself to regain his health and wellbeing since the docs weren't helping him.> > Thanks in advance for input/experience/suggestions.> Karin>

Wondering....if you are off of all thyroid meds, and you're reversing (from back when you were on it), and you clear, will you still feel better? I mean, is it possible that when the rt3 clears, symptoms will be better? I'm so new on this...and confused, of course!
