Hopefully it will resolve itself when you get the HC stabilizing temperature and then get back onto a stable thyroid regime again. That's probably the best thing you can do for the water retention. Guest guest
Just my two cents....water retention went away after I was supplementing with prescription dose potassium....just a thought.Venizia > I can't increase my T3 until I get my tempts stable and everything else fixed. Guest guest
Well, I can't get a prescription dose but do you think taking some potassium that's with my magnesium pills help? Guest guest
It certainly will not hurt. You may not need a prescription dose but my levels were always really low.....3.5 - 3.6.Venizia > I can't increase my T3 until I get my tempts stable and everything else fixed. Guest guest
Hi Venezia, I have a couple of questions for you if you don't mind. My daughter has a potassium level of 3.9 (3.5-5.3). This is sort of new. Her labs in the past have been ok. She appears to me to always be puffy looking. I always thought that it was possibly the thyroid causing this. She has been on straight T3 for eleven weeks now. Did you have this puffy bloated appearance about you before you started taking supplements?? I'm really wondering no if she needs to be taking the potassium. Val always says that it is best to take the SR Potassium. Is this what you take? Thanks, Cindy > I can't increase my T3 until I get my tempts stable and everything else fixed. Guest guest
Loise, I have been battling water retention for a while now and it's not easy fix.I just wanted to tell you that supplmenting potassium without testing it's not what you should do.First when my problem started my potassium levels were over the top range 5.9. That was before I started florinef and after that my potasiumm dropped to 3.7 ,which is level needing supplementing. Val always say you should not take potassium without test, high potassium can kill you,it's not a joke. Even while suplementing she worns to do test in a every few weeks. Hope that helps Milena
