I had the testing done myself through Canary Club. I do have a doc, a DO who I

have painstakingly found through trial and error with many docs. I hav started

seeing him and jsut from my experiences, he is the only one I would trust to

treat my son. My doc blew me away with his understanding of my lab values,

diagnos and treatment of me and my issues!

It is truly wonderful to know I have someone who will work wit me and my son

to get us both better.

I had scheduled an appointment with him for my son after my son's annual at

his pediatritian in Dec. I insisted on trunning a thyroid panel (T3, T4, and

TSH). Those results came back showing him needing thyroid support. I

immediately called my doc and scheduled an appoointment, although the earliest

we could get was Feb. 12, next week. I thought to save my son the pain of more

bloodwork, a saliva test woudl give us a better idea of how his adrenals and

thyroid were prior to the doc's visit!

Well, it appears we have quite a road ahead of us! Poor little guy! My

divorce a couple of years ago must have put an incredible strain on him - that

he didn't share with anyone. Other stressors...who knows. I am jsut so glad we

did the testing, so we have a baseline to start from!

Have you found a good doc to work with you? Hopefully you have one for

yoruself that will work witrh your son as well.

Did you get the testing done yourself or did you find a doctor that was

willing to work with you?

Well, I've found a good doctor for me, but I have suspisions that at least

my oldest has adrenal problems. The biggest problem with that is our

insurance requires a referral and I don't think that her pediatrician will

just give me referrals to new doctors until I find someone who will be

helpful for her. I don't vaccinate anymore and I don't take my kids in for

the annual checkups because they don't really do anything at them. I think

my best bet is going to be to order the test myself and go from there. I am

going to ask if the doctor I'm seeing treats kids at all. If he does, I may

see about changing her primary doctor to the same one as mine (if he'll take

a new patient) and then get a referral. I guess I could try with the

pediatrician first and see ifthey will do the salvia testing or not. I've

been so overwhelmed with trying to get myslef back to a shadow of myself and

dealing with taking care of my mom that I just haven't had the energy to add

it in. She isn't suffering right now, mind you. She just always seems more

tired to me than she should. What I think happened is my body probalby

pulled cortisol from her when I was pregnant. She had lots of symptoms as a

baby, but I had no clue at that time. Colic, extreeme sensitivity to light

and sound, wanting to be held at all times. There is also a guilt factor

thing going on. Everytime I think about ti I feel physically ill. I can't

handle looking at it full on yet. I'm not someone who doesn't deal with

problems typically, but about this if I think about it more than a minute or

two at a time, I feel like I'm going to snap. So, I'm letting my subconcious

deal with it for a bit while I get my adrenal levels up so I CAN deal with

it.....
