Guest guest
Too little cortisol. Those are symptoms that some people get (unfortunately) but others do not. I never had " freckles " in my life and am covered in them now. The dark pigment from pimples or even cuts healing is classic simple. This was something Tom discussed when he first identified 's disease. Darkness in creases also can appear. I noticed my inner elbow creases have gotten really dark. Some people get an overall tanning which is kind of what I have on my arms but in splotches. I am at least 2 shades darker than my normal skin color. Cheri -----Original Message----- I noticed today that my wife has developed " freckles " , light brown small spots on the tops of her cheeks, and pimples are leaving brown spots when they heal. Is this a symptom of too much or too little cortisol? The pimples are a recent development too. Jay .
Guest guest
Oh, I should have explained why. In 's (the most severe state of adrenal insufficiency) it is most common: " In 's disease, the pituitary gland produces more corticotropin in an attempt to stimulate the adrenal glands. Corticotropin also stimulates melanin production, so dark pigmentation of the skin and the lining of the mouth often develop. " I am light skinned so in me these changes are very noticeable if I don't cover them with clothes or makeup. http://www.merck.com/mmhe/sec13/ch164/ch164b.html -----Original Message----- I noticed today that my wife has developed " freckles " , light brown small spots on the tops of her cheeks, and pimples are leaving brown spots when they heal. Guest guest
I also have these spots developing on my face. They are not very dark, but dark enough that they bother me. And the dark spots after pimples has also been a problem. Fortunately, I havent had any pimples since starting HC. Dont know if that is coincidental or as a result of the HC. But, I do not have any darkness in creases, dark spots in my mouth and I do not tan well. Because of the things I don't have, the endo dismissed my adrenal fatigue even with my lab results in his hands! English
Guest guest
A big yes on the scarring. I used to have great skin that would rarely scar. A few years ago, not only did I get terrible acne but the entire side of my face is scarred. Even if I just bump my skin slightly it can rip and scar. I have to be very, very careful and cover myself and wear gloves a lot because the hands are really fragile. Cheri -----Original Message----- Also, has she always been prone to scarring? I wonder if that is related. Never thought about it before until you brought up the pimple issue. English .
Guest guest
I had a brown patch of skin on my face under my right eye, it went away when i started supplementing cortisone.I am wondering if this could indicate which adrenals are damaged. left or right? bw Nil RE: Brown spots on face - any ideas? Guest guest
Hmm. Interesting questions. I guess if it is an indication both of mine are damaged because I have my entire body covered. Great that it went away so quickly. Mine seem to get worse. Hopefully in a year I will see some reversal. Now I know why Jack Kennedy's skin was so tanned and had all those brown spots. I just thought it was a lot of sun damage.
