Guest guest
My mom is one of those who use to take handfuls of all kinds of vitamins, and make my dad take them too. When he had lung cancer it was NOT adviced to take Vitamin A, or carateen, I can't remember why now, but it was hurting him more than helping. I really like to get my vitamins from my food. Except I do have to take the D3 from a gel cap, but the one I take also has olive oil in it, and so I figure thats a good combo. :-) Blessings and Love, Jackie "Somebody has said there are only two kinds of people in the world. Study participants with reduced levels of vitamin D had increased arterial stiffness and vascular function impairment. However, among those whose vitamin D levels were normalized over a six month period, vascular health improved and blood pressure measurements declined. Science Newsline Reports: "The results add to evidence that lack of vitamin D can lead to impaired vascular health, contributing to high blood pressure and the risk of cardiovascular disease." In related news, researchers have also found that high level of vitamin D could be protective against the development of early age-related macular degeneration (AMD), a leading cause of vision loss in adults. In women younger than 75, those who had 25-hydroxyvitamin D concentrations lower than 38 nanomoles per liter were more likely to have age-related macular degeneration than women with concentrations greater than 38 nanomoles per liter. ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php
Guest guest
Lloyd's parents used to do the same thing. Their kitchen counter was filled with all sorts of vitamins, minerals and supplements from A to Z. They never consulted a doctor, just took, as you said, handfuls. I don't think they ever looked into if there would be any type of interaction of the different sorts of things they were taking.IF you have a balanced diet, which I personally don't, then yes, getting much of what you need can be found in foods. There are studies though, I believe, that show women don't get enough calcium and magnesium--which you need to take together. At least that's what I've heard.Did your dad survive the lung cancer?love to you my friend,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Sun, May 1, 2011 4:21:12 PMSubject: Kate....Re: Another article on Vit D/reply My mom is one of those who use to take handfuls of all kinds of vitamins, and make my dad take them too.
