We have one little hatched chick out in the chicken coop with it's mommy hen. And the grandkids just bought chicks from the feed store on Friday. I also bought two chicks. The feed store chicks are three barred rocks, one welsummer, one buff cochin and one blue andalusian. All the feed store chicks are in the house in a brooder box and they are very noisy! Here's an interesting fact about the blue andalusians from http://www.mypetchicken.com/chicken-breeds/Andalusian-B15.aspx"Developed in the Andalucia, Spain, Andalusians are closely feathered, active and good layers of large white eggs. Blue (laced) is the only variety accepted by

the APA, but when two blues are crossed, 25% will be black and 25% will

be white. (Incidentally, Mendel used these birds in his genetic experiments, thanks to which we know things like two brown eyed people can have blue eyed children, but two blue eyed people cannot have brown eyed children!) This breed is exceedingly rare!"hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product.
