scams, be warned from velvet

Hi all

A number of scams are doing the rounds. If someone says you have some money

coming to you or help me out I have been left some money and you will benefit,

delete straightaway. If it looks too good to be true then it definitely is.

The latest one is:- [my writing]

I have been given your name by a very dear friend of yours [doesn't say who it

is]

I have been left some money in a Will but because I live in Namibia

[ or Seira Leone or Mexico or wherever] and the only way I can receive this

money is through a UK banking system [or USA] if you can pay my cheque in to

your own account and write me an international money order I will upon receipt

of this send you a personal cheque for £2500 [ $4000] for your time and trouble,

just send me your name and address

[What happens a cheque is paid into your account but is immediately cancelled,

In the meantime you have sent your international money order which cannot be

cancelled and you find yourself out of pocket by several thousands. Be warned,

don't do it!
