Guest guest
Wow, That's a huge drop. Depending on your labs or symptoms maybe you should have only dropped 6.25-12.5 or so. You basically dropped it by 45mcg. That's quite a bit and would most likely cause the hair loss fairly quickly. Just my two cents. Whenever I make adjustments I raise or drop in small increments and hold for three days to see how I respond. Cindy Subject: effects of lowering t3To: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, June 16, 2010, 1:20 PM I dropped my t3 from 125 down to the 80's to see if that was causing my shortness of breath. On the fourth day my temps dropped down into the mid 97's and my hair started shedding a lot. Can the hair be affected in just a few days? The only other change I made in the last two weeks was adding Isocort. Ironically, I felt better with the lower temps, but really don't want to go back to the hair falling out. Guest guest
My hair starts to fall out within a few days of lowering t3 meds. Luckily, it also stops within a few days of raising it back up! That's a huge dose change, though! Are you taking HC? I ask because I got shortness of breath when I wasn't on enough. I assumed it was because there wasn't enough cortisol for the t3 to get into the cells properly. Guest guest
Hey Cindy thanks for the reply. Your right I never thought about it being such a big drop. I'm going back up slowly. Thanks for the input. STo: RT3_T3 Sent: Wed, June 16, 2010 12:41:18 PMSubject: Re: effects of lowering t3 Wow, That's a huge drop. Guest guest
Thanks Kathleen for the reply. No I don't take HC. My saliva test showed weak adrenals, but not enough to warrent HC. I am taking IsoCort. I didn't even think about the drop being too big until I got a few responses pointing that out. So I am going back up slowly and adjusting IsoCort. Hopefully this will do the trick. Thanks again, STo: RT3_T3 Sent: Wed, June 16, 2010 12:43:56 PMSubject: Re: effects of lowering t3 My hair starts to fall out within a few days of lowering t3 meds. Guest guest
Oh, but you're taking Isocort, so you're getting some cortisol. That's good. But now I think about it, the air hunger could also just be from lowering the t3 way too much. I know when I've done dramatic t3 changes, tons of hair fell out. :-( Kathleen > > > > I dropped my t3 from 125 down to the 80's to see if that was causing my shortness of breath. Guest guest
>Can the hair be affected in just a few days? The T3 levels in the blood drop quickly so a change like that can be felt quickly.
