Guest guest
Hi all, I'm having fun, albeit tiring, at my computer training class. We are learning how to type faster and more accurately, though mine seems to be at 99%, not to brag! My speed, as I mentioned in my email to l)onna has really increased. We have been on the internet, learning how to surf--though I pretty much have that mastered. Today, so far, we typed up 4 paragraphs; each one about a different topic, then had to save them to file, and then attach a file and send it via email to our instructor. I'm going to have quite a day today...Computer training 10 to 4. Leave @ 4, go to the Sprint store to pick up new phone for my daughter, as birthday gift--she and Chuck have the same b-day.,then onto my therapy appointment @ 5:30. After that, have a quick dinner of tacos, then bring my 17 yr old son to travel hockey tryouts. Should be home by 9:30--although I might see if he could possibly get a ride to and/or from the tryouts. Phew! I'm tired just thinking about it! Then tomorrow....yikes! 5 girls coming to sleep over--13 and 14 yr olds. I must be outta my mind! love you all, Kate

Guest guest
Kate, how do you not just hit a wall and become paralyzed with so much to face and draw off of you? I am so glad my kids are grown and that I didn't have health issues when they were minors. Not sure I could have managed as I have had to re-approach life these days and break down my to-do's. With gas so high it is a major stress issue if I have to cram too much into one outing...ugh. Guest guest
This Dr is back on the "you're a diabetic" rant (I seem to go one on one off, in other words, every other Dr tells me I am and the ones in the middle tell me I am not) which is fine. Went to the store to fill the scripts and they couldn't do it all, so when I came home I called Liberty (you know, the ones from ALL the commercials on TV) and got set up with them to deliver the supplies. The local pharmacy won't mail them to me, but Liberty WILL so that will be a major help, not having to bum a a ride every time I need supplies. Then the Dr will want to see me again after I have been testing and taking metformin for a week, to adjust dosages and all... He DID check the spots, they're nothing and he said not to worry about them (they're mostly moles lol...) ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- training/today Hi all, I'm having fun, albeit tiring, at my computer training class. Guest guest
I might just do that. I have an open bottle of white zinfandel, which is my very fav. I'm trying to fit in enough sleep, but I don't get my naps in anymore, because of this schedule. I have some older kids, 22 and 19, and also my 17 year old, But 14 and 11 are still a bit young, so I have some 'minding' to do with them. They also tend to fight; and I have to break things up. They really have a love-hate relationship. When they're good, they're really good. Today my eyes are so swollen, they are like little slits. I really need to get a nap in before the troops arrive tonight. Gas IS expensive--it's $4.25 where I am in NY. Not sure what others are paying these days. But I know what you mean with trying to cram in as much in one outing, which can be VERY tiring. Take care of yourself, DQ. Guest guest
Do YOU think you're a diabetic? That's crazy that there is so much inconsistency with their views on it. What did this doc base his/her findings on? Does the testing hurt? I don't think I'd be too fond of pricking myself--especially 2 times a day. I'm SO glad that the spots are harmless. I was worried about you my friend. And the meter they're sending me is supposedly the least painful, you can test on other places (like your arm) and uses the least amount of blood. Other diabetics out there. What meter do you use?
Guest guest
I don't know, but I'm willing to take the meds and check my BG, just to be on the safe side. And the meter they're sending me is supposedly the least painful, you can test on other places (like your arm) and uses the least amount of blood. Other diabetics out there. What meter do you use? Do you like it? Of the meters you may have used, which one was the best? ~*~Hugs~*~ ~*~Akiba~*~ Pragmatic Visionary http://www.affiliates-natural-salt-lamps.com/pages/156.php -- training/today Hi all, I'm having fun, albeit tiring, at my computer training class. Guest guest
We use the Contour and like it its by Bayer. I had the One Touch that is thinner like a pen but didn't like it. We test on the side of the finger. I use my ring finger and Chuck his little on. The meters are reasonable but test strips are fairly expensive. We pay $15 for our test strips other wise i think $60 without Medicare.
