Guest guest
Fluid retention is a very common hypothyroid symptom. But one that can cause some very serious results if nto controlled. To find the cause we need electrolyte paels with RBC potassium. thyroid levels, and BP as well as cortis levels as ALL can affect fluids in the body. I have worked on each of these areas individually and finally have very little fluid retention now but it is taking a tremendous amount of potasisum to keep it at bay so I suspect ther eis yet another cause I have not addressed. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/

Guest guest
Yes and I believe it si part of my issues, Lantus Insulin cuases potassium losses but OTHER Diabetics on insulin do not need the massive amounts of potassium I have to take, of course most have fluid retention too, so maybe that is all of it and the others are just suffering form lack of knowledge about how much potassium they really need. I knwo my Diabetes mentor who dies last Fall had problems with high BP an fluid retention from the horrid high insulin he needed and I have wondered if he was on ENOUGH potassium if he might stil be here with us. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
We all are your family. We all are your family. WE ALL ARE YOUR FAMILY AND i'M SENDING A PERMANENT HUG !!! -- Re: Val - your story To: RT3_T3 Date: Monday, June 14, 2010, 4:26 AM OK I will try to condense it. Have had symptoms of hypo since childhood, btu at puberty went quite hyper. Probabyl very weak adrenals then too in retrospect. At 19 years olf thyroid totally quit functioning. Was diagnosed a Hashi's wihtotu any labs by a great doctor and out on Armour.Within 6 monhts I was djuste dand felt great, lost all the hypoweight I had gained. In 3 years or at 22 years old, this doctor died and I had to find an Endo to treat me. I was told Armoru was outdated and should be taken off the market and given this " wonderful new drug " Synthroid. I NEVER felt normal on it btu the super bad hypo symptoms did nto return so I was told to diet and exercise and the creeping weight would go away. I started collecting copies of the 1200calorie a day diet that I woudl soon have enough of to paper my walls wiht. At 27 years old, (5 years into Synthroid) I had Endometriosis and Pelvic Inflammatory Disease amd almosyt died as a result of a doctor discovering i had no insurance so he sent me home and told me to take aspirin for th pain/fevers I was haivng.Got INsurance and then in a week went to another doctor and was scheduled for a laparoscopy. Needed and got as complete hysterectomy . Endometriosis and hypothyroid are linked., Hypo CAUSES Endometriosis. Now I have recently leared that Mycoplasma Pneumonia is known ot cause Pelvic Inflammatory Disease, and I have recently been diagnosed with that.. On to the " HELL " years. I was put on Premarin immediately after hyst as I was WAY to oyoung to nto be on homeons. 6 months later the endometrial cysts came back. I had to have a second open abdominal surgery to scrape the abdominal cavity to remove ALL endometrial tissue,. Went through drug addiction, Heroin, speed, and cocaine, alcoholic for about 20 years during and after this. At 40 I had already mostly stopped all this as I was too ill to keep doing it. I had continued to gain weight and collect copies of the 1200 calorie a day diet, in spite of eatign under 600 calories a day and sitl gaining weight, ben called closet eater, a liar and an idiot by the medical profession. I had health insurance and was seeing four specialists for my horrible BP that was 245/148 for two years amd an endo , of course, that continually said " It's not your thyroid, your TSH ois perfect " while he moved me ot 500mcg Syncrap. The vein specialist I was sent to due to my swellign legs put me in compression panty hose that took me an hour each AM to get into, and caused sors on my legs and meanwhile i had gained up to 245 pounds. It was nothign for me to gain or lose 20 pounds over night from fluid retention, but they were tellling me i needed vein surgery in my legs for vericose veins. And this causes facial swelling how? I got to the point if I laid down, I had pneumonia when I woke up from the fluid in my legs runnign to my chest from gravity which my heart was too weak to fix. Then diagnosed wiht Congestive Heart Failure and told I had two years or less ot live. I was FORTY years old. Meanwhle I had become adept with computers and had one of the first Internet connecitons when it first became available to the public. Whne i was 40 there wa already considerable good things to find there and I started researching. I found Armour and sea salt and began the long process of healing. For the next 15 years til now, I have gone through up to 8 grians Amroru a day and thne wa on 4 grains with 100mcg T3 and satil could never recapture the good health feeligns I needed. Slowly I droppe dht efour BP meds I was on and lost some of the weight,. It seems ot come of fwhen IT wants to in spite of whether I am dieting or not. I have considered th epossiblility of cyclical Cushings as to explain these sporadic weight loss times, btu I am now wondering if th eMycoplasma ahs been around for a LONG time causing this. At 50 I let a doctor talk me into stopping estrogen and going ot JUST progesterone whch I did for two years and I blame this for actually being the trigger for my Diabetes. Progesterone always caused fluid retentionfor me which I have worked VERY hard to get rid of these yerars. At any rate I have tried T3 off and on for several year with no better resuts than Amrou and was abotu to give up on it whne after reading some of Dr Lowe's work I decided I was not taking enough to clear receptors so I went on a slwo ramo and discovered th etiming of the clearance of RT3. I have now been on T3 onyl for the last 1.5 years after tryign 3 times ot go back to natural thyroi dand my RT3 returning immediately. I have since found links ot RT3 and Diabetes. SO I will remain on T3 onyl for life,. My BP now runs 127/70 and pulse at 81-90 my heart has returned ot a normal size after being enlarge, i have no more fluid in my chest cavity though I am stil bnattling wiht weakend lungs form the many times I had pneumonia when I was so ill. 7 year s ago I started my own business which is now a successful pet groomign business, and last Fall I bought a house which I am now trying to enjoy. I jus t bought a pond kit which I will be installign it in the next couple months and which would have bene an impossible dream even 2 years ago. I just bought glass times and all the goodies to totally remodel my kitchen as a Winter projetc this year. I ahve been gardening all Spring and will soon be showig and breeding American Shorthair cats. I ahve no more interest in alcohol or drugs, that left wiht the hypo.I am a true CURED alcoholic and drug addict. I have cured Congestive Heart Failure, and I feel pretty durn good for 14 years dead! Life for me is beginning at 55 and the YEARS of hypo are behind me. I outlived my Mother , a suicide at 35 years young from undiagnosed/treated hypo, and I suspect her father who committed suicide at 45 years old and I never knew. I have no family that I can stand as they all literally disownd me when I was in the horrible state I was in years ago and thye literally abandoned me as their own lives were just too important to care abotu my struggles. SO I am alone with my struggles and I wish to NEVER see anyone go through what I did, or my Mother and I wish t put a stop to the horrid doctors that arre making a fortune off keeping us sick. They are murderers adn life suckers. OK I am, off on my soap box now, so I better have my coffee.. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
