Guest guest
Hi again! I had a luncheon to attend today with the other volunteers that run the pregnancy care center here and after 2 hours and no end in site I finally came home! I had been to the gym before the luncheon and 4 hours comes around and I get anxious about being home. So tonight, middle of the night, I am up to 51 emails to sift through lol. I have just two groups but both are busy right now. Sharon, my son is almost 21 and just finished his third year of college in MO. He is double majoring so he has 3 semesters left to complete his bachelors in physics and engineering. He is involved in sigma phi epsilon, a smarty pants frat, and an honors greek group, another greek leadership group, and holds a student govt position in the polytech dept. I'm very proud of his efforts to line up his future...and he has a gf that he's been with for 2.5 years (not an easy task with his load of things) who is another brainy person in the nursing program there. I also have a daughter at the other end of the spectrum, she is 23 and resides here still. She accomplished her cosmotology program about 3.5 years ago and her estetician program about 6 months ago. She is still looking for work in either and actually anything because she is soooo ready to not be living with us...we are too much up in her business you know~ :)Both would love to live in Seattle, as we are from the nw states and they're familiar with it some. They were very lucky I chose the town we're in now, there were lots of small town choices as alternatives lol. Here we have transit and are not far from st. louis, plus you cross the street and you're in another town! I grew up in a one stop light town so to me this is big. and our last 'home' was south of Boise, ID for 11 years and it was small too, around 9k population and some of that military. We're about 5 hours from Chicago which suits me just fine! Been there once on a 'silent retreat' at the Bethany House I believe it was called. Was nice but left a day or two early as I couldn't deal with no talking for as long as I suspected. Well I'm onto sifting emails! Thanks for asking~DeeTo: MSersLife Sent: Fri, May 13, 2011 12:07:20 PMSubject: Dee....and Erma Bombeck......Re: Update time folks! "Update time" is pretty random. We just throw it out there whenever we feel like it:) How old is your son? How far away is his college? I always loved Erma Bombeck. She was from Ohio originally but moved to Paradise Valley Arizona. We considered her an Arizonan. She was buried in Dayton, Ohio under a big rock from the Arizona desert. Just a tidbit of useless information for you:)You are in Illinois, right? I have a great niece and nephew who are living in Chicago now and they have complained bitterly about the humidity. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Hello! didn't get back on my computer the rest of Thursday and wow, I had 79 emails and only am on this group and a ragdoll (cat) group. So update time is a regular thing? Well my husband went to pick up our son's stuff in the truck from college, so he is home again til mid August. I finished a book last night by Naomi Zaccharais called The Scent of Water which was not too bad. I listen to Ravi Zaccharias on the radio, her father, a Christian Theo/Philosophy speaker pretty regularly. Before that I went through two Erma Bombeck books, funny flat humor. We've just discovered how enjoyable Book Fairs are! Been dealing with hot/humid temps in 80's and 90's for a few days in a row now. ugh. Not a biggie but have to be outside on occasion because I'm doing some 'training' with a few of my dogs. That's about it! Big yardsale weekend in my neighborhood...have to find something to take me from home so I don't go looking! trying to get rid of things not bring more stuff in~ BlessingsDeesw IllinoisTo: Group <mserslife >Sent: Thu, May 12, 2011 1:41:44 PMSubject: Update time folks! Guest guest
nice sharon! I was way too old to do any sororities, in my late thirties lol. Not sure they'd have let me if I had wanted to be part of that scene. He takes if quite seriously and has taken a position with the frat as well to shape them up since they were slipping on campus rating and suppose to be an honors fraternity~ To: MSersLife Sent: Sat, May 14, 2011 12:15:06 PMSubject: Re: Dee....and Erma Bombeck......Re: Update time folks!
