Is there a Pharmacist in the area that you could call? If I'm not mistaken, Gaddy's husband (in SC) is a Pharmacist, maybe she could ask him for you, try posting with her name in the subject line. Also, does the print out about the med mention anything about not using caffeine while on it? Just some suggestions... Hugs, Chelle
Guest guest
thanks chelle. i thought that was what it was saying but i couldn't tell for sure because of the medical jargon. i am a coffee drinker, so it could be important for me. (yes, i have tried cutting out coffee and it didn't make a difference in my pain. i drink the low-acid variety.) julie >>>>>Can someone help me understand this article....is it saying that using > caffeine while taking amitriptyline will make the drug less effective > in pain control? > > > , I'm by no means a doctor, but I do believe (from what I can understand) that the article is saying that caffeine could block or work against 'some' actions of the amitriptyline (or at least in that type of injury it did). Guest guest
Your welcome, ...seeing as how I didn't really do anything should I charge you and outrageous amount (for my lack of medical knowledge)?!!! *ha ha ha*....hmmm, sounds familiar, huh? I would seriously ask a pharmacist though....would you be able to go to decaf coffee? I had to stop drinking caffeine about 13 yrs. ago. It used to trigger migraines. Luckily chocolate doesn't do that...and I'm glad because it's my 'drug' of choice these days... Hugs, Chelle
