Guest guest
Dear PSC Support Friends, It has been a while since I posted about the money generating recycling program that we have had for the past year and a half. The good news is that even without any recent reminders, we continue to send in ink cartridges and old cell phones every month and Ricky advises me of checks she receives from AAA Environmental. Before finding PSC Support, I think many of us here thought there was nothing that we could do to further the hope for a cure or change the direction of our disease. As we all know, this support group gives us hope every day and support of each other reigns supreme. Our recycling fund raising effort is not the biggest money maker but along with all our other fund raising initiatives our combined resources may someday be what's needed to support a scientific breakthrough. Last year we took in about $1100.00 and the monthly checks we have been receiving lately suggest we will do about half as much this year. Of course, I would like to see that change. We currently get $ 1.00 per old cell phone and anywhere between $0.0 to $2.00 per ink jet cartridge. Although the amounts are small, it is probably the easiest thing you can do to raise money for the fight against PSC. By calling or e-mailing AAA Environmental (toll free 1-- www.aaaenvironmentalinc.com) you will receive postage paid envelopes that you can place your old cell phones and ink jet cartridges into. Then just drop in the mail for delivery. When calling or emailing AAA Environmental you will need to give them our non profit code which is PSCPARTNE001. Please note the missing R and no brakes in the letters and numbers. Also keep in mind, that the recycling company cannot accept Epson ink jet cartridges or the larger laser printer cartridges. As Dave pointed out in our last newsletter, PSC Partners Seeking a Cure will be funding a small prize ( $1000.00 to $3000.00) to be given at the annual AASLD meeting for promising PSC research. The money we have raised through our recycling program could be all or a significant part of that prize. I think all of us can see that this could be considered furthering the hope for a cure or change in direction for our disease. Please call or email today and ask for envelopes. Please pass them out to neighbors and friends. All the envelopes are coded for us so upon receipt that envelope generates money for PSC Partners. Thanks for all your help in this important battle.
