Guest guest
ok, when I got up my sugar was 95, lunch it was 83 and just a bit ago it is 80. we don't eat until 5-30 which means if I don't snack between now and then and I mostly don't, it will be even lower. to night we will have grilled salmon on a bed of salad and maybe a baked potatoes with it. I know I should not skip my dose of ten units, but how much lower will I go then the 80 where I am right now by bed time? even though I'm seeing the saw bones on Friday morning, I'm having my sister fax in the numbers for the past seven days in the morning. I'm thinking about only doing seven units rest of this week until I see him on Friday. I have cut back on my amount of no where bike thinking this will help to keep the numbers higher, but so far it doesn't help a lot. sure hate to feel like I did last evening again this evening. all opinions welcome. thanks. Guest guest
To get the numbers you want you will need to know almost exactly how many units a single unit of Humalog or Novolog will lower your glr and simultaneously it would be good to know about how many glr points will be raised by a single gram of carbohydrate. If you do not know these two measurements, then it would be wise for you to consume at least 40 grams of carbs at each meal. Uh ho, I forgot, you do not use a straight shortacting insulin as well as a single long acting insulin. I know you are doing well on the insulin mixture so far, but I do not believe it will give you the accuracy you wish. I am sure your prescribing doctor can fix this problem, if you wish. In the mean time eat some bread with that fish and salad. just saying, Harry covet thy neighbor's property, seize it, distribute it, then brag about your fairness being a Democrat voter. Guest guest
did start seven units to day. going to see how it does with my normal hour of exercise. I do play with it and my nurse at the specialist office doesn't approve either. I think it has something more to do with the fact I'm blind then anything else though. I think they think we each have a keeper and can't dress our self with out assistance of some kind. some days I let them believe as they wish and other days I will argue with them. see? here I have found just one more thing that can mess with your sugar and that is mood swings. my dose at dinner? ok, when I got up my sugar was 95, lunch it was 83 and just a bit ago it is 80. we don't eat until 5-30 which means if I don't snack between now and then and I mostly don't, it will be even lower. to night we will have grilled salmon on a bed of salad and maybe a baked potatoes with it. Guest guest
I guess the doctor's office sees all kinds of scenarios, to offer them a rare word of defense. Still, they should be able to tell those of us who are on top of things. Technically, the official recommendation from doctors and professionals is (or used to be) that blind diabetics were not supposed to use insulin pens. I'm thankful my endocrinologist I happened to be seeing way back when I first started on a Humalog pen showed no concern in me using a pen.
