My dil has a half day on Friday so she picked me up, we meet my son and the four kids for lunch at a Chinese buffet. Then we went to the movie theater to see the new Pirates of the Caribbean movie. Can you believe I haven't been to a movie theater since I took my two older grandsons to see some kid movie in 1993. Those grandsons are now 20 and 24:) I had a good time but I'm exhausted today. The lunch and movie was a gift to my dil who turned 36 yesterday. Guest guest
Sounds like a very big day indeed Sharon.. I think I'd have been exhausted.. I got my haircut recently too... only I didn't go to Wal-Mart.. I just pulled my thoroughly soaked mid-waist length hair back into a shoulder length pony tail (without a holder).. and asked for the hair-cutting scissors.. He told me that I wasn't.. I told him that I was (knowing full well that when I started to cut, he'd think I couldn't do it right, and finally do what I'd been asking him to do for weeks!.... He did!.. LOL).. I started cutting right below my fingers and he saw that I wasn't going to be able to cut through all of it.. so he took the scissors from me and did the job for me.. actually looks quite nice.. Did it exactly the way they'd have done the look in a salon if they were to do it.. so that it's a bit shorter in back than in the front.. had to do a little trimming of loose ends.. but hey.. saved me a bit of money & a few headaches now that my head is lighter.. much much lighter. AND.. there will be no more dog standing on it, looking at me like I'm stupid when I keep telling him to get off my hair.. nor will I try to roll over at night, only to come to an abrupt halt and find that my hair is UNDER something.. either myself or !.. LOL I'm glad you had a good day.. and that you were able to get out and about.. I love to just cruise around Wal-Mart.. I especially love their "Clearance" Aisles.. Sometimes find some really neat stuff in there.. like those HUGE Hershey's Bars.. normally sold at close $3.. for a buck a piece.. I take them ALL! Was your Chinese Buffet MSG free?.. Those can sometimes be hard to find around here.. I love General T'so but don't often find it without MSG... so every once in a great while, I will break down and eat it.. and deal with the extra numbness that the MSG causes in me.. Sometimes it's worth it.. My jaunt out this week, will be to the cemetery this evening.. decided to wait, so that we'd be able to finish closer to dark.. so that those little LED Floodlamps that we bought to shine on Bud's Headstone -- this year -- will be activated, so we know we have them positioned right... and I don't suppose the flowers will object too much to evening transplanting rather... Hopefully my cousin, who lives next to the cemetery will be home for a short visit as well.. HUGS |)onna My daughter-in-law dropped me off at Walmart just before 8 a.m. yesterday. Guest guest
Sticker shock.. yeah definitely.. IF one had to pay full price.. LOL Theaters around here have matinee versions which are less expensive.. AND there is one theater that I know of, at the mall, that admits people in wheelchairs for free.. as well as their caretaker!.. My MS Mentor, , told me that one could conceivably actually go to the theater have a blast.. and not pay a cent.. Just look around in the trash (he was joking of course) for one of those HUGE popcorn containers, that get the free refills.. as well as the HUGE drink cups that get the free refills.. Loose the cap & straw on the drink container.. take them to the counter and get the refills.. But I do like the idea that this theater permits the handicapped and a caretaker in at no charge.. sad part is the seating location for the wheelchair.. probably the reason for the free admission.. sitting with ones head cocked up and to the left or right throughout the whole movie.. not a good thing... HOWEVER.. if I load up my power chair and get it there.. I could get quite comfortable reclining in it to watch the movie.. LOL.. the person with me wouldn't enjoy it as much as me though.. HUGS |)onna must ask you Sharon...was there sticker shock or what!
