Guest guest
I have the same problem exactly! I am trying everything to get my pulse down, until now with no success: it is constatly stuck at 100 bpm. My bp is ok and temps are not high, so I don't think I am hyper too. When I stopped takin t4 meds my temps were high, and that is when I think I was hyper a bit. I have tried with the mods' recimmandation two things so far: a) took an iron IV. my ferritin was low and val suggested that the high pulse could be from that. After two IV still pulse is high. trying to supplement sea salt. Havn't tried that enough and going to check this option this week. The thing is that drinking salted water is lust disgusting, and I am really not handling it well. Thought maybe to buy empty capsuls, put the salt in and swallow. Well, these are my thoughts on the subject. If you have new information/ideas let me know. > > My resting pulse is usually 90-100. My FT3 at last lab was 4.0 (2.2-4.4) and my RT3 was 250. My doctor is not going along with the fact that my RT3 is high. He said to wean off Cortef 15mg which I'm now down to 10 and to stay on 3 grains Erfa for 3 more months and then re-test. > > A friend of mine who was in the medical field at one point said my pulse rate is too high and should be 60-70. I told her I'm not in great physical shape, even though I exercise lightly a few times a week. She said my pulse rate is too high and can be indicator that I'm hyper. > > I have no sweats or palps, and my temps don't get high. Is this an okay pulse rate? >
Guest guest
I'll try the sea salt again. I put in my sauce, and shake some on food, but maybe I need more? My ferritin is good at 71. So not ferritin My temps are still 98.2-98.6, sometimes 99. when i'm moving around or just finished being out walking the dog in warm weather. At times, my temp drops to 97.9 though too. I don't think I'm hyper, but not sure why I'm 93-100 pulse rate most days.
Guest guest
My doctor who has me on thyroid and Cortef did test aldosterone and renin and levels were normal, at least he said that stuff was fine. I'll have to go back and find that lab and post those results. My resting pulse yesterday late around 8pm was 84. But it's usually 90-100. My blood pressure is still on low side (106/60, or 70 something like that)and doesn't go up when I stand. Also if I'm just standing and take it, sometimes it's low then too b/c the meter won't find a number. > > I don't think I'm hyper, but not sure why I'm 93-100 pulse rate most days. > > Sorry if I missed something, but have you had aldosterone tested? My resting HR stayed close to 100 until I got on Florinef. Salt alone never affected it, and my BP was fine. Now my pulse is 78-84, lower than it's been in many years. Guest guest
My aldosterone was also considered normal, in range at 13. Val told me anything below 14 was worth trying florinef for. I'm glad I listened. --Irene > > > I don't think I'm hyper, but not sure why I'm 93-100 pulse rate most days. > > > > Sorry if I missed something, but have you had aldosterone tested? For now I'm going to wean off and see how I feel. > >The drops seem to come when I'm in a cold environment, like AC in my car blowing on me, or in the house. It sounds like he's taking you down a very different route to the one that's been proven to work here. That's not to say his route won't work of course but it's not one we can help you with as we don't know the twists and turns along it as it were.
