Anne, nne, Sharon, Akiba, Robbin, n, Dan and Cait (and I hope I didn't forget anyone now, if I did it was unintentional), says to say a great, big thank you to all of you for your greetings on her birthday! I collected them for her in one printout, as I usually do.

We've had a calm and relaxing day, as this is a national holiday, had a picnic in the park and read books in our picnic chairs for a couple of hours. got a birthday breakfast (and she requested English Breakfast, as usual, eggs, bacon and potatoes), and before that I woke her up with a coffee tray with a candle and a few presents. But I left some presents in the kitchen, among them the guitar, partly because I couldn't carry that and the tray, and partly to surprise her when she g ot out for breakfast (and I did surprise her, I had told her some presents were in the kitchen, but she hadn't thought a guitar was one of them, she thought the "big" presents were the ones I brought to her on the coffee tray). She is playing the guitar right now, so I suppose it was appreciated

Well, the National Holiday is about the Ascension, and not so much about 's birthday... But it's nice to have it coinciding like this. I actually joked a bit about something similar to that when we left for the picnic, because we saw a guy in a kind of military uniform we didn't quite recognize (that is, we recognized the emblems etc, but not the uniform as such), and with the title "commander of transportation" on his name tag, and I said something about not knowing exactly what those people did, but assuming they were called in when big stuff needed transportation, than added "like say a king or so" (because the king and queen is coming here for the anniversary of the city, on Monday, but preparations for the visit have of course been ongoing for months, more and more noticeable). And said: "Yes, but is it today the king is coming, or is that on Monday?" I answered: "Well, that depends on if he is coming for your birthday or the birthday of the city...Naturally he'd under normal circumstances prefer the celebration of you, but unfortunately, being the king and everything, he has to come on Monday instead and celebrate the city".... love/Reb>> Wow, that made her birthday a National Holiday???
