With your pregnancy you need as much thyroid hormone in you as you can

get. Can you get some Venofer IVs to get the ferritin up quickly so

you can tolerate the T3 you and your baby need????

I presume you are supplementing iron??

Thanks, Nick,

I do take iron capsules, plus blackstrap molasses, cast iron cooking, red meat

every day so I'm doing all I can to raise ferritin. My OB Dr. won't give me the

iron iV nor will my thyroid " expert " . BUt the side effects of a racing heart

and breathlessness are not something I can live with either, especially with

labor coming very soon. Val told me to lower T3 at 100mcg based on my labs

which revealed the T3 was pooling and therefore not doing any good. I just need

to make it another week and a half and hopefully after delivery my ferritin

levels will start rising again.

, have you tried increasing cortisol? I knwo in this stage of

pregnancy your levels shoudl be about 3 times what you started wiht.

Thsi si normal increases done for PG addison's patients so I knwo it is

needed. THAT could be part of the hold up keeping the T3 from your cells.

Hmm, no I haven't. I'm taking 35mg right now, what do you think would be a good

increase?

Where do you think I should put in that extra 15mg? Here's my dosing schedule:

6am-10mg

10am-10mg

2pm-5mg

6pm-5mg

9pm-5mg

Will I still need to wean off of that extra HC after delivery?

Thanks so much, Val,

Yes, if I deliver in the hospital it will be IV HC (my OB said 100mg) but if at

home, I have a prescription shot for 100mg to be given by my midwife so I should

be all set.
