Guest guest
It's not that you couldn't tolerate them together -- you likely just couldn't tolerate the t3 due to that terrible ferritin level. Anxiety and heart racing are common syptoms of not tolerating t3 due to low ferritin, low cortisol or both. Also, taking 10 mg cortisol (HC) will likely make you worse not better, especially if you try to take thyroid meds on that dose of HC. It ends up usually making your cortisol even lower than it was to begin with due to the feedback loop. If you need cortisol enough to take it, you will never be able to tolerate t3 without taking at least 20 mg HC. I know. I was in almost your exact same boat. Had a ferritin of 20 and was taking only 8 pellets of Isocort (approx. 12.5 mg HC). I couldn't tolerate more than 3 mcg t3 or I would have terrible " reactions. " I lost 1 and 1/2 years messing around with a doc who didn't understand that I needed to take lots of iron and that I just couldn't tolerate thyroid meds without more HC. If you post your adrenal results in the adrenal group, they can help you. And in the files you should find the rt3 site by Nick that explains how to ramp up t3. I was taking 10 mgs of cortisol, then after labs came back showed TSH high 4.92 (0.40-4.50 normal) and T3 reverse high 36 (11-32 normal) Ferrintin was low at 26. > My Wellness doc started me on slow release T3 5MG. Guest guest
Thank you Kathleen, I stopped taking the Cortisol two weeks ago. I crashed taking just the cortisol alone, and had labwork done that showed hi RT3 I am tking 10 mg of T3 right now wihtout cortisol. I am fearful that i will not be able to ramp up to optimal dose of T3 due to my low ferrintin. I am thinking of asking for iron injections, because my stomach is in such bad shape. I think that the Slow release Cortisol I took for 5 months damaged my stomach....along with recently finding out I am gluten intolerant. Thanks, Cheree > > > > Hi, > > I have been taking cortisol for approx. 5mos.(Dec. 09'- stopped taking 1st week in May.
