Guest guest
I don't think I have much to talk about --but that's never stopped me before;) It's warming up here. After all of my complaining about the chilly weather I am getting my payback I s'pose. It was 90 degrees yesterday and the day before but today it only got up to 85 degrees. I haven't been miserable yet though so I'm okay. It's still windy (Red Flag Warnings) and that is fueling the forest fire near Alpine, Arizona (60 miles from here). The fire has exploded in the last 24 hours and I heard it was at 46,000 acres today. The smoke plumes are visible from here and we have had some drifting smoke here at times. The fire is named the Wallow fire. It brings back memories of the huge Rodeo Chideski forest fire in 2002 that consumed 468,638 acres and was the largest ever fire in Arizona history. That one came close to us. I am still enjoying my wild birds. There is an oriole that comes to hang underneath the hummingbird feeder sipping nectar. He is so funny to watch! I have some goldfinches that are quite entertaining too. Several times I have had to bring in my feeders due to the high winds and the bird punish me by delaying their return once the feeders are back up. lolI'm feeling good. No problems here except for stiffness when I stand up. I do the 'old lady shuffle" for a few minutes after standing up. I made breakfast burros this morning. It was pretty darned good stuff. What are you cooking? How are all of you? hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
Not much going on over here. Its 75 but tomorrow is supposed to be 91. WAY too hot for this time of year. Thats more of a July temp. Its been crazy weather to say the least. We had sandwiches here. So nothing spectacular for sure. Our daughter and grandson surprised us last Thurs. night and came for the Memorial Day weekend. They went back Mon. We had already know that our son and granddaughter were coming down. Our middle son lives next door so it was nice to have all the kids home at the same time :-) Hugs nne To the world you might be one person, but to one person you just might be the world " " May the Lord Bless you and keep you, May the Lord Make his face shine upon you, and give you Peace...Forever " Breast Cancer Patients Soul Mates for Life http://breastcancerpatientssoulmatesforlife.bravehost.com/ Anxiety Depression and Breast Cancer http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/AnxietyDepressionandBreastCancer Angel Feather Loomer www.angelfeatherloomer.blogspot.com The Cancer Club www.cancerclub.com > Sharon's update > > I don't think I have much to talk about --but that's never stopped me > before;) > > It's warming up here. Guest guest
so true Sharon. It happens to me whether I exercise or not so I know it's not attributed to the "use it or lose it" issues like I had a dr. tell me before regarding my binding of the collar-to-shoulder tendons/muscles. When they say stuff like that I just feel so irritated because of the assumption I am sedentary. Of course when there is lots of pain going on I am not getting as much activity but when it started I was doing weight machines, walking multiple dogs, riding my bike, and housework. This last year my activity dropped when I started having tendonitis symptoms with anything I did that worked something more than just normal movements such as weights, hobbies, playing with the cat for crying out loud. It's finally passed I think so I'm trying to get myself to prioritize things back to the gym...getting so fat! ugh. Guest guest
That's so annoying, isn't it! I know I, who have started to gain some extra weight (my weight is about 10 pounds over my ideal weight) because of long time knee issues (my knees are old for their years, have had surgery a couple of times, long and boring story...), get super irritated when medical people assume it's the other way around (weight causing knee issues). For one, if that was the case, I would have had the extra weight before I started having knee issues, not developing it after years of bad knees. But secondly, and I think that's what's really annoying, before my knee issues started I walked, a lot, could walk for hours at a time, and I loved it, and missed it sorely when the knee issues made it too difficult. And, yes, that I am not doing that is of course why I am gaining a bit of weight, but to suggest that the weight is the *cause* of the problem, is to say that I choosed not to be able to do one of the things I loved most since always, and I find that very provocative. Oh, well, doctors and empathy...As of right now, I have started (two months ago) to walk for an hour a day (have only missed doing it once during these months), preferably in the early mornings, before it gets hot, and street gets crowded, and before the day's work starts. I find that very relaxing, and energizing in the same time. And it does let me discover parts of this city I never knew of, despite having lived here for 10 years plus, almost making the city brand new for me. I usually bring a camera along. Yes, it does make my knees hurt a bit extra at times, but I am at a point where I feel that I am tired of having my knees run my life. If they don't like it, they can find themselves another body to be part of... And seriously since my knee problems are only going to get worse whatever I do (I have had that explained to me), I might as well do something I enjoy. And if I'd lose a pound or two doing it, it wouldn't hurt either. love/Reb>> so true Sharon. Guest guest
I love walking too...will be sorely missed. I need to get back out there again now that my feet are not in such pain. I wish my weight was only 10# over my ideal weight lol. I haven't changed weight with lack of mobility this past year but have increased a size. crap~ Not happy at all. I am weighing what I weighed when I was pregnant. perhaps I'll get going and can stay moving again to get the weight shifted again. really unhappy about it as fat is so uncomfortable~To: MSersLife Sent: Fri, June 3, 2011 5:40:10 AMSubject: Re: Sharon's update That's so annoying, isn't it! Guest guest
Dee, I just "love" the people who tell me that if I did more I wouldn't have as many problems.. umm.. and I sometimes do get a little miffed and reply that if I did do more, I'd be spending a whole lot more time in an Emergency Room somewhere.. And they don't understand, that most of our pain isn't the "walk it off" type stuff that they deal with either.. But hey.. my PCP, when I was diagnosed, said to me.. but fortunately there is no pain involved with MS.. and I like uh... looked at her and said.... Can ya tell me what carries pain messages to and from the brain?... and of course she told me that it was indeed the nervous system.. to which I asked... "And just what does MS attack?".. and this very educated lady doctor finally realized that "HEY.. there is pain involved".. Unless of course when she gets a Charlie Horse in the calf of her leg, from wearing those high heels that she doesn't have to worry about falling off of, she doesn't experience any pain.. I'm pretty sure the "meuron" also told me that there wasn't any pain involved with having MS too.. good thing he preferred to specialize in geriatrics & stroke victims.. cause he wouldn't get real far specializing in MS.. <grin> But hey.. there does have to be a certain percentage of the population that are so smart they are stupid.. (did I say that?..oops).. HUGS |)onna so true Sharon. It's finally passed I think so I'm trying to get myself to prioritize things back to the gym...getting so fat! ugh.
