If it were me I would want HC to be certain you have enough cortisll and

THYROID is essential to your baby's proper development. Why on earth

would you stop thyroid?

Should I switch over to HC? Is it safe during pregnancy? And is there

a certain brand, or should I just ask my ND(hoping she will go along

with it so I don't have to do it behind her back)?

Thanks, Val for your help. I can't express how much your help means to

me.

I would try to convince her. Your cortios needs double or more during

pregnancy. If you are not take adequate cortiosl your body will actually

steal form the baby's adrenals as soon as they are functioning. baby;s

can be born adrenal fatigued this way.

You may want to do further research or find an OB that will look into it

very carefully. I'm pretty sure that this is what happend with my oldest dd.

I was on prednisone while pregnant with her becasue we thought it would be

safer than the other meds for Crohn's disease. What I figure happened is

that the pred. shut down my adrenals enough that my body pulled cortisol

from her while I was carrying her. I had no idea and thinking about it makes

me ill (literally). She was a baby that NEEDED to be held all the time, had

colic, sleep issues, sensativity to noises and bright lights. I'm in the

process of finding out if she still has adrenal problems, but I'm betting

she does.

I think this happened with my 21 month old. I wasn't on anything

when I was pregnant because I didn't find out till about 14 months

postpartum I had adrenal fatigue. I did a hair test on her and it

showed low cortisol....anything I can do for her??

I would think you can do a salvia test, but getting a 21 month old to put

that much spit INTO a tube could be tricky.
