I went through my e-mails and saw this disastering fire. I am praying for your whole family. I hope the rain starts asap.

I have some chronic optic neuritis type eye pain and now the heavy smoke is making my eyes burn. Yikes! The smoke is pretty thick and has been since early this morning. My daughter-in-law is upset because she wanted to plant the garden today. The smoke is so thick she can't stay outside long enough. The fire has grown to 144,500 acres over night. Yesterday morning the fire changed course and headed away from us toward the town on Springerville. Then in the early evening I heard from some folks on the ridge over from us and they said were choking from the smoke. Apparently the fire changed course again back toward us. I need to make myself get up and go do breakfast dishes. I'm also going to put on a pot of pinto beans to cook all day. Tonight we will have bean

burros, cheese enchiladas and tostados. That's my kind of meal:) My grandkids have been asking for a cake of some sort but I don't know what I have for a cake.
