Guest guest
I am amazed at what happens in the media--radio and television,so I thought of some examples to make me (and maybe you) feelmore--well--functional. Here are some of the latest that I have noticed:1) TV advertisement for Celebrex: "And for those taking Aspirin and The Elderly. . . ." 2) Advertisement for San Francisco restaurant, "Those of you who want a really exciting dining experience in a "reshterAWNT,"-- Restaurant has the "au" in the middle syllable, not the last. . . 3) Advertisement for a local community college: "Before I started at "blank" college, I was constantly "shtruggling." Apparently the individual needs speech therapy. . . 4) On a recent medical program on TV: "We have the diagnosis and it is "porfereerria!" The word is actually "porphyria," and is pronounced "porfiria.". . . And these people get paid to confuse the language; I think thatis wonderful if I can recall the right word, but I usually do pronounceit correctly--when it finally comes to me---no reimbursement at all!Cheers to you all,n
