Guest guest
I haven't heard of a 2 tube test, but if you test for cortisol levels while taking HC the results will be skewed. You have to be completelyoff of it for at least 2 weeks before you do the testing. This means that you have to taper down for a period of time until you are completely off of it then add another 2 weeks onto it. My understanding is if you start to taper down (must be done slowly) and start having problems then you still have adrenal fatigue or your adrenal glands would start picking up the slack. Guest guest
Cherie, I'm not on any HC at all... the only thing I'm taking is Dr. 's Adrenal Rebuilder, 6 tabs a day, and his Stress Formula, 1-5 tabs a day, and the herbal adrenal support drops. I didn't even know about HC, which I gather is hydrocortisone in either pill or cream form.... until I joined this list a few weeks ago. The 2 tube is an am and pm test from ZRT and I'll get results for Estradiol (E2), Progesterone (Pg), Testosterone (T), DHEAS (DS), C 1 and C 4... I think that means Cortisol and the # references time of day as in 1 = morning, 2 = noon, 3 = mid day and 4 = evening. Since I'm only doing am and pm, we'll get results for cortison 1 & 4. Last week, the doc was concerned that my in-office labs looked like I wasn't taking any thyroid meds, and I'm on 90 mg Armour, so she's thinking reverse T3, and wants to look at the hormones and cortisol levels re adrenal function. From what I've read here, I " m guessing that I should be doing something with sea salt, selenium and HC, but will wait for test results. I don't know if I should stop taking all of Dr. 's products before testing. I thought that was what Val was suggesting, but wanted to be certain as I don't think I'd mentioned that I have a baseline 4 tube test from a year ago. Guest guest
You need to stop taking the adrenal rebuilder for at least 2 weeks before doing the salvia test again. Adrenal supplements will also skew the test results. It's good that you have labs from a year ago to compare with though. You can see if you have improved any. I'm not sure about the stress formula because I don't know what is in it. Yes, HC is hydrocortisone. The pill is prescription and th cream can be purchased OTC.
