Guest guest
Iodine can make AF worse because T3 is iodine and tyrosine (amino acid). By increasing the iodine you might be stressing your adrenals and either need to lower your dose of iodine significantly or up the HC. I think I would stick with a lower dose of iodine or none at all and only raise HC slightly if needed. Especially if you are on Armour, which contains iodine in the T3 so you are getting more iodine than you know. Did your doctor tell you that you are getting iodine from the Armour? See, taking Armour you might not have been getting the T3 into the cells until you got on HC and you have only been on HC two months, which isn't nearly long enough for most people to be steady. Also, if your iodine pills are Iodoral, they contain 12,500 mcgs per tablet. Normally, iodine supplementation is in the hundreds of mcgs so that is a huge amount in Iodoral. You also need selenium not only for the thyroid but to protect your cells when mercury poisoned. Even though your temps were low, were they steady? Did you graph them three times a day and average, then compare day to day? That will give you more information on your current adrenal state. Chelation is good but VERY hard on the adrenals and thyroid. What protocol do you use? I hope you are using something like Cutler's and not EDTA (which doesn't chelate mercury, only lead). You very likely may need to up your adrenal support while chelating too. A lot of us here have high mercury (and lead, they go hand and hand often) so you aren't alone there either. Cheri -----Original Message----- Hi I have been lurking and learning a lot from all of you. I am hypothyroid w/hashi's switched to Armour about a year ago after 30 yrs on synthyroid. I still don't think my thyroid is corrected. I am on 4 gr of Armour. I was diagnosed AF about 6 months ago and after trying licorice, sea salt, preg. and vits and minerals went on HC about 2 months ago...It really helped. I am less tired, have been getting some things done... not myself yet though. The fluttering eye has let up, and I am not as foggy, but I am so tired and today I am dizzy.... My question is, does anyone know what is going on with me??? Does iodine make AF symptoms worse??? I really feel like I have taken a big step backwards and it is very discouraging. My Dr says I need the iodine, but I'm not sure my body can tolerate it. Also, I just started to chelate. I have high levels of lead and mercury among other things... maybe this has something to do with my issues. Thanks for reading all the way through my long post. Tina . Guest guest
Cheri Thanks for your reply. My Dr did not tell me that Armour has iodine in it... how much, do you know?? I did wonder if the Iodorol was making my AF worse. I do feel a little better today, even went to the snow fest for a short time.. and did my laundry!! I do take selenium, 3000 vit C, B complex and B5. My temps were not steady... they varied by more than 1 degree from day to day... and varied a lot throughout each day... maybe from 98.8 to 97.2!!! With the iodorol they were higher in the am though. I can't take my temps every day due to my job, but do check them on most days off. I don't know what the chelating agent is... it is an injection...if she said, I was so foggy I don't remember??? Last week was the first injection, it was a small dose to see how I do. I am taking 30 mg HC now, do you think I should stress dose that on my chelating days??? If so , how much??? Thank you Tina > > Iodine can make AF worse because T3 is iodine and tyrosine (amino acid).
