Guest guest
Thank you so much Kate. I heard this morning the fire is now at 300,000 acres but I haven't heard that officially. Greer is about 45 miles from us. I am heartened by the fact so many people are offering help to the evacuees. There are Red Cross Shelters set up but the people can't take animals with them. Most people here on the mountain have horses, cows, sheep, goats and poultry. There are so many wonderful people offering to take the farm animals as well as cats, dogs and other pets. I am taking all that information and making a list. I guess you would call that "facilitating"... lol I revived a long dormant group here on the mountain and we are using that group to get the news out about the fire and for the offers of help. I have friends posting the link on other sites as well. Along with all of this our lives must go on. I did laundry this morning but need to haul my behind up to go hang it out. I did dishes and need to go check on our poultry. big hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. My beautiful White Mountains are burning! I am so sad that our spectacular mountain is on fire and will never the the same again. Tourism is what keeps this area alive--so what will happen now? Fire experts say the fire will burn until our monsoons hit and that will be about a month away. The fire is still zero percent contained. hugs SharonThis email is a natural hand made product. Guest guest
For 2 different reasons, do you really think it's wise to go out and hang laundry? One, being the smoke in your eyes, and 2, being the smoke in/on the laundry.Greer is relatively close to you my friend! That's not all that far. PLEASE stay safe, Sharon. You are a master facilitator! You rock at that, honestly. That's a beautiful thing that there are folk offering to take livestock. That's really special. If I were there, I'd do the same in a heartbeat.PLEASE keep us updated! Like even hour by hour. I'm worried about you.Know that you are loved,KateTo: MSersLife Sent: Tue, June 7, 2011 1:08:12 PMSubject: Re: new fire update (Kate) Thank you so much Kate.
