Guest guest
It may be worth trying a half-dose of PS, then? I myself never had a good result with any PS. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Anyone out there who takes Phosphatidyl Serine and Melatonin together? Guest guest
Yes, right now I am not sure what is going on with my sleep. I know my cortisol status is changing due to increasing my total daily dose, but I can't tell if my nighttime is too high or too low. :-( I can fall asleep fine, which seems to suggest my cortisol isn't too high when I actually go to bed. BUT I wake constantly, every 2 hours. So I wonder if my cortisol goes low while I sleep, with ACTH jamming and I'm pumping out adrenaline, thus waking me up? If it's the latter, I guess I would need more HC at bedtime to stop this? I'm sort of scared to take 5 HC at bedtime since it would make my daily total even higher, but I guess a few nights would not hurt me. I guess all I can do is try. Guest guest
I can only try, but it never seemed to help me before, either. It seemed to make my cortisol go too low after only 1 night! Every doc always tries to push PS on me! I tell them my cortisol is too low, so I have to be careful with it and they say that PS " normalizes " the HPA axis. But everything I read says that it blunts the cortisol response to ACTH, which is why it's great for people who tend to make too much cortisol. But for someone with low cortisol, I'm sort of scared of it! Blunting at night is fine if I have high night cortisol, but I don't need blunting during the day. The only doc who seems to get this is Somebody, who wrote " The Mood Cure. " She says that PS can make your cortisol go TOO low if you take it too long. She only advises it for brief periods. Guest guest
Thanks for this post. My doctor asked me to take Calm-PRT to help with sleep, but I was too worried about taking it because it has phosphatidyl serine and rhodiola. I have low cortisol and am worried it will lower it. My doc did say it won't lower cortisol, but " normalize " it. So I'm glad I haven't tried it. I did unfortunately try the melatonin he gave me...that was a big mistake. It definitely lowered my cortisol and I crashed the next day. Would love to figure out what I can take to help me sleep, but that won't effect my cortisol during the day the next day. --Steph > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > Anyone out there who takes Phosphatidyl Serine and Melatonin together?
