Guest guest
I know this isn't about an MS med change, but this has my system totally freaking out, and I don't know what to do. I'm on Geodon for depression, anxiety, etc. I saw my new psychiatrist Monday, and he moved my Geodon dose to dinner time, because it needs to be taken with food. Well, that's fine and dandy, it's just that Geodon is literally the only reason I sleep. I've taken it at dinner time starting Monday, and I'm essentially passed out on the couch by 9:30. Well, I think Monday I made it a little later, but not by much. Last night my husband said if it wasn't for the fact that I take my shot at bedtime, he would have left me sleeping on the couch (never mind the fact that I take OTHER meds at bedtime). As it was, I woke up at 2 am and found him just logging off the computer, which isn't all that unusual, and had I not crashed because of the Geodon, I likely would have been on the computer, too. Yesterday I woke up at 6 am, but was able to get back to sleep. Today I woke up at the same time - which is totally odd for me (especially with the kids being on summer vacation), and because of a situation (discovered that hubby was late on the phone bill and internet had been cut off), got to worked up to go back to sleep even if I wanted to. Not that getting up with the birds is a bad thing, although normally even if I go to bed at the human time of 10, I generally run on a 12 hour sleep cycle because I'm so fatigued. Gah, just realized what else may be causing the early waking. He increased my Cymbalta to 120 mg. I'm fatigued, but not able to sleep unless I take the Geodon, and that's probably why I crash so hard when I take it. I felt so bad when I was at my appointment, and my depression was hitting me worse because I was flaring that I didn't think anything of it....but I'm bipolar, and heck. Anti-depressant increases can do major things....which, for me, being fatigued but not able to rest is a major thing. Between the geodon change and the cymbalta increase, my poor body doesn't know whether it's coming or going I think.Tina
