Good luck to you Sharon!Tina The fire is about 45 miles from us I think. Perhaps more. I have heard conflicting reports of the size of the fire today. One news outlet says 400,000 acres but the official site has too much traffic and I can't get it to open. Yesterday afternoon they evacuated Springerville and the rest of Eagar. The reports are the fire was burning in the towns of Eagar and Greer but there is no official reports. I listened to the press briefing on the radio last night at 9 p.m. The wind is supposed to calm down today and for the next week so that is excellent news. The really good news is they finally have a 747 tanker there today to drop slurry. The 747 can drop the equivalent of 8 regular tankers at a time. We are excited about that! I wonder why the heck they didn't get it here sooner??? I have to say I am disappointed in the response from the forest service so far. After our governor signed the Emergency Declaration a few days ago we are getting more "attention". I need to go call an evacuated family of 6--two adults and 4 teenagers. They have a borrowed place to live but I hear they need food for themselves and their farm animals. So I'll talk to them and see what they need and try to find someone who can help them. big hugs to you Akiba and to all.Pray for RAIN!
