Guest guest
You and your family have a true friend in Stacey!I hope that has a wonderful experience, andMax, too!Thank you for telling us of this, Kate.Love,nTo: MSersLife Sent: Fri, June 10, 2011 3:08:36 PMSubject: exciting news As most of us here, money is tight. We would always love to send our kids to camp, but never seem to have the means. My friend, Stacey, sends her son Max to a sports camp in the summer. She asked if would like to come, but when I heard it was $750 a week! I freaked! I told her, no way would we be able to afford something like that. had heard that maybe it was a possibility, and was disappointed when I told him we just couldn't swing it...Now, Stacey, being Stacey, wrote a letter to the camp director; told him about and Max being great friends; play hockey together, etc. She also told him I have 5 kids and have MS. Due to the MS, I am fatigued and in pain. Basically that was it in a nutshell.Stacey called me yesterday in tears. I thought something serious had happened. She said she heard from the director, and that he said he couldn't help with a week of camp....he said he could help with 7 WEEKS of CAMP--the entire summer! She was so moved, as was I, that we both started crying. I mean, with everything added in (playing ice hockey there is extra), it all comes to about $10k! I am still in a state of shock.2 things: 1, I really have to kick butt to get everything he needs--like LOTS of socks, undies and other clothes, as well as mark/label everything with his name, and #2-- has only slept away on weekends, not a huge sleepaway summer camp. He thought he could take his cell phone; he can't. There's only 2x they get to call home over the whole summer, yet, they can write and receive emails and letters. There's one day, that we go up to visit, watch a hockey game and see all the activities they do. I think is going to be sad to not say goodnight every night to me. ( He is a bit of a momma's boy, so that part is going to be hard, but one bright spot is that he'll be in the same bunk with his friend, Max. I am so thrilled I'm speechless...though from this long email, you might not think so! lol. Just had to share!love to all,Kate
