Guest guest
I'm no expert but I can't help but think it has something to do with the culture our kids are exposed to. We, or at least I, never had video games, saw the movies they have now, or listened to the same kind of music. I was shocked when I heard little Sonya has had her fair share of being bullied at school, mainly because she's so tiny. The schools around here are making a serious effort to deal with it thank goodness. And I know they offer open discussions with parents about the problem. What amazes me is how violent girls are now, how they develop so early (that I blame on the crap processed food they eat), and not only how young but why they're having sex. You can only blame the schools so much. In a busy world where we're inundated with technology, I believe many parents are dropping the ball. Last Christmas Sonya found one of the kids' old books and it was a story of Jesus's birth. She's merrily reading it to me and then she stumbles on the word "ass". Jana was furious with me for allowing her to read it because if she says it in school, she's get in trouble. But then I remember loving the Bobbsy Twins and wouldn't let my girls read them. And Drew ... I got almost the complete set when someone donated them to the public library. My mother worked there are they weren't allowed to have in their shelves so she saved them from the fire ... hugs, Cait
