Guest guest Posted September 25, 2008 Report Share Posted September 25, 2008 Hello, I've been at a business convention with Mike for the past 4 days at Hershey!!!!! The place is chocoholic heaven! Everywhere you go there are baskets of free Kisses and miniatures. It's only 1 and 1/2 hours away so I went with Mike and had a chance to see many old friends . I used to go to all of the conventions each year but since DX travel has been a problem.But this was fun. Did I mention Chocolate? I did not go to Hershey Park..been there done that many times with the kids. I did enjoy the great weather and friends and food and chocolate! The one thing that made me very upset was that my 61 year old baby brother had emergency quadruple bypass surgery on Wednesday morning...no warning..no symptoms. In the past ten years he had become 60 lbs lighter and really good about exercise and diet. He is an avid car racer..being on a for fun racing team for years with an Austin Healey he had restored. The new rules of membership included a required stress test. After he normal daily 5 mile run and his very healthy breakfast he went for the stress test on Monday,and flunked big time, They did a catherization the same day and he had the surgery 2 days later!!! Talk about a shocker! The doctor said he was a walking time bomb! I talked to him a few hours ago. He's in apin of course but has been told that all went well. We'll get over there tomorrow. I'm sorry to read about 's situation. She has been a strong and wonderful woman who has shared all of her life's experiences with us on the board. I wish her no pain and a calmness now that she needs it so badly. To the newbies..Welcome to a great group that shares the ups and downs of living with this monster of a disease.
