Guest guest
Hydroxizine makes me very very tired. Non functional tired so I never was able to take it long enough to see if it worked for the VV. There are two different kinds as well. HCL and Pomoate. I think the HCL is the one that they suggest for VV. But I'm not entirely sure. I believe the HCL is atarax. L > > Carolyn, > > Elavil was the first medicine I ever took and it worked for about 3 1/2 years for me and I got a really bad flare and it didn't knock it out so I stopped that one. I have tried cymbalta and that did nothing for me. Lately when I have a flare I take flexeril and that has been great it normally knocks it out, that has been for the past 3 years now but unfortunatly that has stopped working now as well. I have never tried neurontin or lyrica. Hope this helps. Now my doctor is just trying me on hydroxyzine 10mg at bedtime. So far one week into it no difference and it makes me very sleepy. Has anyone tried this one? > >
Guest guest
Carol, I tried Lyrica and Cymbalta. Neither helped at all. Both made me VERY constipated, and that is one of the most common side effects of these drugs, so if you are prone to constipation, I would be careful taking them - all that straining to have a bowel movement just makes the pelvic floor worse! Guest guest
At the time of my WORST flareup, I was taking-- 150 mgs elavil, 3600+ mgs of neurontin, 150 mgs of effexor everyday and using topical estrace creme 3-4 x's/week. I had a mild flare this past February and that was b/c I totally quit the neurontin, effexor and was down to 50 mgs of elavil, 2-3 x's/week estrace. NOT A GOOD IDEA FOR ME. My drs blasted w/ my original dosages and within 2-3 months I am again basically 90% better. As you know each of us are quite different w/ meds, and I made myself tolerate the high doses, keeping in mind that someday I would be down to maintanence level. Good Luck. Guest guest
I forgot the 500mgs of vicodin and sometimes 1000mgs / day. This kind of was the icing on the cake for me. It really settled those nerves. My pain management dr. prescribed it for me after trying ultracet which did nothing Joyce
