Guest guest
Hmm, I thought levels over 70 were toxic? No? Or at least dangerous?VeniziaSubject: Re: high calcium..related?To: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, May 19, 2010, 6:19 PM But I took 10,000IU for pover a year every day. My levels are at 100 now. SO maybe you just aren;t there yet. I also knwo my NEED for milk stopped wiht the high Vitamin D dosing. I used to actually feel ill if I didi not drink milk every day for years! I ahven't had a glass of milk in months now and don;t miss it. I really think I was craving the vitamin D is it enriched wiht. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
Well, this is disconcerting. I have been having occasional pain near my right kidney all day and a little queasiness.VeniziaSubject: Re: high calcium..related?To: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, May 19, 2010, 6:14 PM Oh calcium levels are as bad a thyroid levels in terms of Dr understanding and getting proper treatment. I have had 4 opions from 4 Dr's all different. My GP was certain my 11.3 was 1 - tumor 2 - thyroid or the slim chance of cancer/kidney failure. Basic tests ruled out 1 and others so he went with the thyroid theory and wanted to watch it. He explained it related to the calcitonin produced by the thyroid...it helps to control calcium levels between the blood and bones. My vit D also bottomed out to 19 only being D2, then the bones were breaking...long story. Anyway, word of caution calcium will stop vit D conversion if calcium is too high thus weakening the bones, not the other way around. The PTH should then turn off calcium production. Long story short if the parathyroid and thyroid are working properly calcium levels will not fluctuate over .2-.3 generally. Wonderful website parathyroid.com tons of info. Best regards Sherri > > Hi Val, > > I have been looking back on several grouping of tests for the last year or so and have noticed that my Calcium has been consistently going up to where it is now at the top of the range of 10.5. I know that it is related to the parathyroid and could possibly be tumors on those glands. Do you think it has anything to do with taking or being too high with my Ft3? The last test I had done my Ft3 was 4.5. Which was in April. The highest Ft3 was 9.1 in March. THese calcium tests go back about a year. They went from 9.2 and have gone up to 10.5 with the tests in April. Any relation? > > Venizia >
Guest guest
I feel too good to lower it. It has hel;ped my iimmune system BIG TIME., I was not baout to reduce it over winter when I usually get SO ill repeatedly, and it worked only one bad bug and one slight one. Which si the best winter I have had in abotu 18 years. No signs of toxicity yet. -- http://nthadrenalsweb.org/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ http://www.stopthethyroidmadness.com/
Guest guest
My calcium is always elevated. Some reasons for elevated calcium. Eating pasteurized dairy products. The enzyme phosphatase is completely destroyed in pasteurization. The final test for pasteurization after heating to 165 degrees Fahrenheit is the negative Alpha Phosphatase test. And this is the enzyme that is critical to the absorption of minerals and calcium! Calcium, like thyroid hormone can build up in the blood but not be used by the body. The body needs more magnesium when thyroid levels increase so if it is not supplied calcium can elevate. If you have any amalgam fillings or vaccines or live near coal fired plants etc you may have elevated mercury. Therefore calcium will elevate because mercury displaces magnesium which is necessary for calcium utilization. Guest guest
Chantel,This has been very helpful. I am going to look into my magnesium levels for sure and check out some of these other things. This is never ending.....always something and it sure does get discouraging. This helps me relax a little bit having this info.VeniziaSubject: Re: high calcium..related?To: RT3_T3 Date: Wednesday, May 19, 2010, 8:10 PM My calcium is always elevated. Guest guest
Venizia, I know I have shared this before but I am maintaining Vitamin D levels of 90 or above with just the sun, 20 minutes a day at noon from May to September and the Sunsplash Renew that is sold by Joe Mercola from September to May, 10 minutes a day, three days a week. It comes at some cost but I think it has been well worth it and would be if you are struggling to keep your D levels up or just struggling with chronic illness. Not to mention you have a nice glow year round. I am part of a test group that tests vitamin D levels every 6 months, so it will be interesting to see what my levels are in August. Guest guest
Thanks Kris. That is very interesting. So, I would think levels above 70 are not a problem. I am going to raise my dose and talk to my doctor about it.VeniziaSubject: Re: high calcium..related?To: RT3_T3 Date: Thursday, May 20, 2010, 12:33 PM Venizia, I know I have shared this before but I am maintaining Vitamin D levels of 90 or above with just the sun, 20 minutes a day at noon from May to September and the Sunsplash Renew that is sold by Joe Mercola from September to May, 10 minutes a day, three days a week. Guest guest
Venizia, As I understand it if you have an autoimmune disease (as most of us do) keeping your levels higher is no problem and, in fact, will help you stay healthy. However, one expert I contacted, Krispin Sullivan, was quite appalled at my levels when they were at 65ng/ml in August,as she felt I was marginally too high, so I suspect you will get a variety of opinion. In February, when my levels came back so high (91ng/ml) I contacted another " expert " who said yes they were high but my body was just reserving the D to help me when I need it. I certainly " was not at a toxic level nor suffering from some unusual disease " . Kris > > > > > > it was 100 last time I checked it.
