the idiotic questions with a major disaster and all the people killed God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

That reminds me of the national news that was here covering our huge Rodeo Chediski forest fire in 2002.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rodeo-Chediski_fireThe locals had great fun giving the wrong pronunctions of our local towns/areas to the news folks. We still laugh and call some of the towns by those goofy names they came up with. We have some unusual town names here anyway.... but they way they pronounced them was hilarious. You might as well have a little fun, huh Anne? lol

Texas, OKlahoma, Kansas and north

we started hearing it here in 1995 - when the Murrah Building blew in OKC - we have a get 'er done attitude - many worked shifts here- got a meal in the drive through here or Chickasha - put in many hours there and drove home to grab a few hours sleep and go back to work

not just police, fire, and ems - mental health and red cross

funny thing - they tried flying national news talent in and they screwed the pooch royally on national tv - Okies did not like the idjuts making smart ass remarks in their state

the hotels, restaurants, massage therapists, vets, everyone pitched in - they were awesome

for the dogs mental health - they got other people to hid in the wreckage the dogs didn't know so they could be "found" - the dogs needed the attaboy

you know the part about 6 degrees of separation - the Director of Cameron Campus Ministry's grandsons were supposted to be in day care that day - my son left from here with his family to drive home to MO - he was due to come back Sunday just north of OKC - I didn't know until 9 pm that night when I got ahold of my MIL that his job had been cancelled

there are many other stories - just can't remember all of them

God, grant me the strength of eagles wings, the faith and courage to fly to new heights, and the wisdom to rely on his spirit to carry me there.

how to handle rude shoppers when in a scooter... It’s not just people in scooters. Today we were in Wal-Mart with my sisterand niece’s and my youngest niece asked for two ladies to please excuse outthe way and they made a statement that parents should be made to teach kidsproper English. My niece is autistic and non-verbal. After 10 years ofspeech therapy she has a working vocabulary of 200 words. We said to theladies that we were proud that she used her words and they said that was noexcuse! EXCUSE ME???? She was asking you to move aside instead of justpushing you out the way like she usually would do. She was polite and askedyou to move aside instead of blocking the whole aisle. When we told theladies that she was autistic they said that was no excuse for not talkingproperly, when we explained that she was also nonverbal they said

“wellshould be on a leash instead of being allowed around people†well as youcan imagine we had to get my sister out there before someone needed anambulance. Some people just don’t get it.

It’s not just people in scooters.  Today we were in Wal-Mart with my sister

and niece’s and my youngest niece asked for two ladies to please excuse out

the way and they made a statement that parents should be made to teach kids

proper English.  My niece is autistic and non-verbal.  After 10 years of

speech therapy she has a working vocabulary of 200 words.  We said to the

ladies that we were proud that she used her words and they said that was no

excuse!  EXCUSE ME????  She was asking you to move aside instead of just

pushing you out the way like she usually would do.  She was polite and asked

you to move aside instead of blocking the whole aisle.  When we told the

ladies that she was autistic they said that was no excuse for not talking

properly, when we explained that she was also nonverbal they said “well

should be on a leash instead of being allowed around people”  well as you

can imagine we had to get my sister out there before someone needed an

ambulance.  Some people just don’t get it.
