Guest guest
what happens if i take a dose a little bit too late, lets say dmsa after 4 hours and 15-20 minutes? Stop the round or continue? How do i know that my dosage is too high? If you are able to complete 3 days, that is recommended. If you feel the symptoms are intolerable, then stop. If you are unsure, you can post the details and ask for advice. > 4. What should i do if i miss a dose? If you miss by more than an hour, stop the round. > 5. I am very sensitive and have adrenal problems. Is 12.5mg > appropriate? (11.5 months post removal - no proior chelation) Are you on adrenal support? 12.5 mg is a good starting dose for many people, but if you feel you are sensitive, you can start with 6.25 mg. > 6. Are unpleasant side effects to expect or rather uncommon at this > dosage? It varies. Some people feel better on chelators. There is no way to know what it will be like for you until you start. This is why you start with a low dose - it will keep any side effects minimal. > 7. I plan to do a 3 hour schedule - are people that metabolise dmsa > faster than 3 hours? It is possible. 3 hours is a reasonable starting point if you think this is an issue. --

Guest guest
how do i know if i need to do dmsa more often than 3 hours? Have taken my 3 third dose (every 3 hours) and feel better. No problems so far... still afraid of redistribution tough > > i want to start my first round of chelation with 12.5 mg DMSA and > have a few questions: > > 1. i bought my dmsa 8 months ago, bottle is still sealed. Guest guest
I started off dosing DMSA every 4 hours. I noticed that about 30-45 minutes before the next dose , I would start feeling generally lousy, sort of 'inflamed', weak, etc (your symptoms may be different). When I took the next dose, these symptoms would improve rather quickly. I moved to dosing every 3 1/2 hours, but still sometimes I would have a period of feeling lousy before the next dose. Now I just dose every 3 hours and it is much better. I still do 4 hours at night and that seems ok. I guess perhaps the DMSA metabolizes a bit slower while sleeping, or maybe I just don't notice feeling worse because I'm asleep.. So, you can tell when you feel this sort of pattern whether your doses are close enough together. Guest guest
i understand... but i guess the 4 hours schedule recommended by cutler still has some nice margin of safety that will protect you from serious damage. Right? the more often you take the chelators the better obviously > > > > > > i want to start my first round of chelation with 12.5 mg DMSA and > > > have a few questions: > > > > > > 1. i bought my dmsa 8 months ago, bottle is still sealed. Guest guest
You can miss it by one hour. So 4 hours and 20 minutes if fine. Once you get past five hours though, you have to end the round. Your dose would be too high if you get sick taking it. You would feel lousy, be really tired for example..you'll know if it' s too high. 12.5 mg should be fine though. My four year old takes that amount as do I. The bottle is fine. It's no problem opening and splitting the capsules up and then using them later on. DMSA only loses potency if you mix it with liquids or foods. If it's in capsules in the bottle..it's fine. Side effects would be minimal at that dose. I was tired for my first day on chelation, and didn't feel like eating. That was about it. After the first five rounds..that went away. Now I usually feel fine on it. Increase vitamin C if you do feel tired. In my personal opinion...I have had prescriptions that made me sicker than this stuff. This was like nothing really. If you experience side effects that are not tolerable, you can reduce your dose or stop the round. You can do a four hours schedule since you don't know if you metablize it faster or not. You will be able to tell by side effects, if they appear close to when it's time for another dose. Such as at the three hour mark, then you can change to three hour dosing. We are chelating three of us, and so far all do fine with four hours. three hours is only essential if you are using ALA. > > > > i want to start my first round of chelation with 12.5 mg DMSA and > > have a few questions: Good starting dose > > > > 1. i bought my dmsa 8 months ago, bottle is still sealed. Guest guest
--- I started on DMSA 6mgs every four hours. I suffered from headaches and adrenal problems for the whole of the first two rounds of this and had a dramatic improvement when I went to 3 hourly. I don't know if it's at all relevent but I metabolise hydrocortisone very quickly too. Changing from 4 hourly to 3 hourly has made all the difference to me and I have been able to increase my doses of DMSA as a result.
