Welcome fellow A.S. sufferer. Collin and I have begun chatting about this disease. Have you seen our recent posts? > would starting ALA help perhaps? () Only if you are strictly following a Candida diet. Chelating made AS much worse for me unless the diet was strictly followed. I have eliminated all symptoms over the past year, but if I eat some sugar the symptoms return just a few hours later. I have used Bee Wilder's Candida diet on another yahoo group. (The advice on mercury there does not jive here, just ignore it and follow the diet). Addictions and being stubborn kept me from being perfect on the diet until just 2 months ago. I am doing incredibly well at the moment. Candida seems to cause nearly all of the symptoms of AS acutely, but chelating seems to get rid of the underlying problem over time. > Many thanks > > Charlie >

I would stop chelating until that is resolved. Have you tried the specific carbohydrate diet? See - http://www.breakingtheviciouscycle.info/ There's lots more information and recipes on the web that can be found through google. The SCD has totally fixed up my gut problems. With constant diarrhea you would be losing electrolytes, so need to replace them. > In AI there is a graph plotting the intensity of symptoms as > Chelation progresses. Guest guest
I'm only moderately poisoning according to Amalgam Illness. I've been chelating since December 2005 and have done about 60 rounds. The kids and I have been taking a break for a couple months. I hit a major snag in my progress last Fall. Although I was seeing a lot of improvement by chelating (better moods, less anger and irritability), it's my feeling that perimenopause was coming on fast and contributing to overall progesterone deficiency (and unpleasant symptoms). Then, in December, we had a very stressful month and that also seemed to throw a wrench in my health with all the emotional upset. In short, I've come to believe hormone balance is extremely important to a sense of well- being and mood. If you've been doing well, and suddenly you're not, and it's not exactly obvious what has happened (change in diet, supplements, illness), I'd look into thyroid, adrenal, and sex hormone status. All by saliva testing. If you've checked them before, check them again, and fine tune as necessary. I've also read that hormone balancing can be difficult if there is a stealth infection. Good luck, in Illinois
Guest guest
I'm sorry, I didn't read the OP before replying. Yes, it sounds like you are in the stall or worsening of symptoms period as illustrated in Amalgam Illness. This is the natural progression of mercury detox. Take lots of supportive supplements and keep chelating. in Illinois
