Guest guest
Margery, Did you notice any change in your RT3 level as you optimized your mg.? I am particularly interested in this because as I posted above, the mg therapy lowered my RT3 by 150 pts and raised my ratio (but still not above 20). For some of us who don't have the other RT3 problems (low ferritin, D, cortisol, etc), magnesium deficiency " might?? " be a contributor to raising our RT3 and messing with T4 conversion??? It has never been brought up, so I am wondering if anyone else noticed a difference in their RT3 with mg therapy. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
I had already cleared my RT3 using Val's T3-only protocol, months before I started started working on my magnesium. I'm on T3-only, and my RT3 remains near zero, so I wouldn't be able to tell if the mag had any effect on it. There are other factors that contribute to RT3 problems (besides ferritin and cortisol issues). Magnesium deficiency may be one of them. But in most cases, I doubt that correcting a mag deficiency would ever completely correct an RT3 issue, because RT3 is self-promoting: " If you have any kind of RT3 problem it promotes itself. It causes the conversion to more RT3 to be favored over conversion to T3. " from Val's post: http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/39004 So even if the cause is corrected, once an RT3 problem is established, the only way we know for certain to fix it is the T3-only protocol. > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > > >
Guest guest
Val, I believe that if magnesium can improve cellular thyroid levels for those of us who have done everything else you have recommended but are still hypo, then this is on topic. I am in the midst of discovering that IV vitamin/mineral infusions with magnesium are making a big difference for me. I am hoping to come back with a detailed success story for you in a few more weeks. Guest guest
I agree to some point with you but I think because the Magnesium topic was first brought up on natural thyroid group, you might get the help you need in that regard, in that group. I believe Janie posted either in her blog or newsletter about magnesium deficiencies. Are you a member of that group? If not, it is also a great group as is this one. This group is really related to Reverse T3 issues. But I usually try to post other related thyroid issues there.Hope this helps youVeniziaSubject: Re: mag. / info linkTo: RT3_T3 Date: Tuesday, June 22, 2010, 12:51 PM Val, I believe that if magnesium can improve cellular thyroid levels for those of us who have done everything else you have recommended but are still hypo, then this is on topic. Guest guest
It is NOT specific to T3 and RT3 issues. This is a general thyroid topic and would be best there. Success stories are ALL welcome btu the debate abotu things not specific to t3 and RT3 just can;t go on here. I am spread really thin these days and if posts do not stay on topic I wil have ot go to full moderation of THIS group and manually delete them. I do nto want to have to do that. I love it when folks can discuss amoung other list members their issues btu this group is not a chat group. Because we have moderatos that try to read an answer every problem, we need the board cleared enough they can do thta. If oyu wnat an RT3 CHAT group, I will open one up for topics such as this. http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/NaturalThyroidHormonesADRENALS/ http://faqhelp.webs.com/ http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/ http://www.thyroid-rt3.com/ http://groups.yahoo.com/group/HypoPets/ I agree to some point with you but I think because the Magnesium topic was first brought up on natural thyroid group, you might get the help you need in that regard, in that group. I believe Janie posted either in her blog or newsletter about magnesium deficiencies. Are you a member of that group? If not, it is also a great group as is this one. This group is really related to Reverse T3 issues. But I usually try to post other related thyroid issues there. Guest guest
I regret buying the oil after reading the link as the author recommends the same minerals I always tout: Albion patented chelated minerals. DOH!!!! I knew I should've just bought some Bluebonnet Albion Magnesium. Oh well. I guess I'll try to use up my bottle of oil just to see what happens. Guest guest
Hi Kathleen: IMHO the mag oil is good stuff. I took the Albion chelated mag (I took " Jigsaw " , the only one that didn't give me the runs) and got nowhere with my mag levels. The topical oil is the only one has helped me raise my magnesium. But I do have unusually bad gut malabsorption problems, which that article didn't cover. Margery > > > > > > > > > > >
