Then on the last two days, you only have to interrupt your sleep once a night for DMPS. W.

TK--- No. you can't change the timing like that without causing redistribution. Once you go to 3 hr for a round you need to stay with that. > > I'd hate to have to get up in the middle of the night just to take > dmps. > > Thanks, > Val >

TK--- If you have changed from 6/8hr doses of dmps to 3hr dosing and ALA you may not be able to go back to the 6/8hr doseage of dmps and may need to increase it. There will be a significant difference in blood concentration of dmps between the two dosage schedules if you use the same amount [6mg]. so you may need to increase the dmps at 6/8hr dosing when you add the ala. Then on the last two days, you only > have to interrupt your sleep once a night for DMPS. > > W. >

I'm thinking of doing ala/dmps every weekend with a break here and there. So, if you increase the frequency of dmps, you would also need to increase the dosage level? Maybe 12 mg every 3 hours if I have been doing 6 mg every 8 hours for a couple of months? val
Guest guest
What I meant was to take DMPS every 6 hours for as many days as you are going to take that. During some of those days (for at least 3 days in a row), take ALA every 3 hours. So, on the days you do both, take DMPS with your ALA dose and then take only ALA, then back to both, then just ALA, ... That way you are taking DMPS every 6 hours and ALA every 3 hours. This would you don't need to change the timing of DMPS, but mean that you have to dose only 1 time per night when not using ALA. W.

Once you go to 3 hr for a round you need to stay with > that. > I actually don't agree with this. In THEORY you should be able to go back and forth AS LONG as you adjust doses properly, and do it as follows: Take X/2 every 3 hours, then after taking an X/2, wait 6 hours and go to an X every 6 hours dose. or 3X/8 every 3 hours, then after a 3X/8 dose wait 8 hours and go to X every 8 hours. Very few people have tried varied timing. Of those (all of whom were VERY VERY VERY sick), their experience of tolerating it was not particularly good. So, if you want to do original medical research on yourself (which I do not recommend) then do as above for amounts and timing and let us know how it goes. If you want to avoid the substantial risk of doing something new and untried, then just stick with the dosing frequency you have established. TK's poisition is in fact a rational and practical one, and the one I recommend, but I don't think it can be justified as " necessary " in a simple minded kinetic sense.
