I also have ovarian cysts, I feel low thyroid either caused them or worsened

them. What also helped was progesterone. My sister also has this problem, she

had very good results with Emerita Pro-Gest cream, which is an over-the-counter

product, here's a link:

http://www.emerita.com/index.cfm/category/4/perimenopause.cfm

Dr. Lee did a lot of groundbreaking work on progesterone and bio-idential

hormones. Here's his website:

http://www.johnleemd.com/index.html

I did not have any results at all with the Emerita cream (I don't know why). I

also had no results with prescription-strength compounded cream. I am now

taking progesterone in a prescription sub-lingual compounded troches, which has

finally helped. (Thanks to Val for suggesting this progesterone delivery

method.)

Progesterone, to be best of my knowledge, works better to prevent cysts than to

treat them, so I don't know if it will be of help to you at this stage. It may

be helpful in preventing this from happening again in the future; it does with

me & my sister.

know a natural remedy for ovarian cysts?

thanks margery... what side effects do you get with the progesterone cream? when and how do you use it? If I have to use it post surgery what would you suggest? the thyroid definately caused this one. what about the oral troches--side effects? I don't want anything that interferes with my thyroid meds

I had no side effects at all, either from the progesterone cream or the troches.

The cream works for most people, so if it was me, I'd start with that - it's OTC

and it's cheaper, too. My sister uses it exactly as directed on the label and

it works great for her (and has been for over 5 years). I only went to the

troches after the cream didn't work.

I've read that too-high progesterone can interfere with cortisol utilization, so

I've been testing every month to make sure it isn't getting too high. Val

suggested I keep my levels above menopausal but below luteal - from her post:

http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/RT3_T3/message/38544

I'm working toward something just below luteal, high enough for cyst suppression

but low enough to avoid cortisol interference.
