Guest guest
From what I read in Andy's books, it's not recomended to do prolonged chelation. the body needs time to heal and recover in between. Also, if using dmsa you could create some deficiencies in minerals, and lower immune function, actually creating a problem with your neutrophils dropping too low. DMSA can cause low neutrophils in some individuals anyway, but using it for weeks on end....probably not a good idea. That is why you don't hear of anyone doing continuous chelation with it. You will be subject to colds, viruses etc as your neutrophils drop. This can be correct but requires that you stop using dmsa for a period of time. I can't advise on long term ala. I do feel better when I use it also, and feel sluggish and cruddy in between rounds, but this is par for the course. I am too tired to continue getting up at night. Are you on any endocrine support? Adrenal stuff, thyroid stuff? I found melatonin essential for dealing with not sleeping at night, which is an adrenal and a mercury problem. Also, for some reason..dmsa seems to mess up my sleep and I need the melatonin for a few days post round. You can do rounds a bit longer than three days. We have done four days rounds periodically due to what you describe....a hard time coming off rounds. Some people I have talked to do four or five days, but then stop for 11. > > Hello, > > I've been sticking to the protocol here -- 3 months on DMSA, now > almost 3 months on ALA+ DMSA (25mg each), and I have seen some > promising results since I began the ALA. Guest guest
--- I would love to do continuous chelation! I get off round symptoms and they were so bad last time that I had to go back on round after just a day and a half due to the intolerable headache. I felt better almost immediately, stayed on round for 5 days and this time the off round symptoms have been fine. Trouble for me is that my two children are also chelating and can only do the weekends when they are not at school. So if I were to do longer rounds all the time I would be off sync with them and yet still having to get up at night even when I am not on round myself (if you understand what I mean!) I can only really chelate at the same times as them. Also, unfortunately with DMSA or ALA the night time wakenings would eventually be a problem. I would ideally like to do continous chelation with the DMPS as this would eliminate the off round symptomsI find that longer rounds are much better for me but I cannot get hold of DMPS. I am interested to see what other people are doing to solve the problems of off round symptoms.
